Bit of a humdinger to report, but I can't really do that before dwelling on the one that got away, the big one, the really, really big one.

As madhatter observed: "So close to a winner at a price that even Reged could not have made up a long enough adjective for..." Oh, I dunno. Something like bunkerbustinbonkeroonious do you?

top2rated was the one so close to an amazing result. Pillar the horse. It lost in the 6.00 at Dundalk - by a head - at 80/1! Yes, a bunkerbustinbonkeroonious 80/1! I don't know what to say. Phew? Wowsers? Condolences? Really, really hard luck doesn't quite do it. Great effort top2, a first class piece of napping, even if it missed by the merest of distances.

So, to the one that did make it. bluebook mocked his choice of Clueless Hill,  suggesting it aptly reflected his recent efforts. On the contrary, it came home at a bulgacious 14/1. That shot him up from the basement to ninth. Another piece of fine tipping.

Elsewhere, Tugay5 shuffled up to 10th with an 11/4,   madhatter idled in third with an evens   and scissors is still in 12th after an odds-on.
