Tomorrows Ascot placepot is based on World Pool terms which would appear to mean that all the six races will be based on only 3 places, as I understand it. I have contacted the Tote for confimation/clarification of the position. It certainly appears to me to be a pretty unsatisfactory position at the moment with these World Pools, although I think we will find that the size of the pools is significantly higher than they otherwise would have been. Certainly, when I have contacted the tote on their live chat previously, they have been considerably more knowledgeable than their Betfair counterparts! Once I get clarification I will let you all know.

I have clarified the position with the Tote and the Ascot placepot will be on normal place terms. The World Pool is only operating on win, place ec. bets at the moment, although I always thought the idea behind the World Pools was to get larger amounts bet into the jackpot, placepot etc. but perhaps that will happen further down the line.

Does seem bizarre Aquarius - there are Swinger pools (sounds more exciting than it is kids!) with getting on for half a million pounds in then, and a Jackpot of £10k guaranteed and still below that in terms of actual bets at the moment...
