It is a comp of small margins
just suppose that nose victory for the Shrewdies had gone the other way we would have been sat with only 4 pts to make up Lets see what we can do to make up the difference guys  |

Well lads if we dont win the last round that Timeform squiggle will still be there. nobody will back us
with any confidence. So a change of name may be required if ever another comp.I thought the Harchibalds or The Dodgepots may be suitable. Any ideas fellow Thieves.   |

To be fair this Team would never ever earn that Timeform squiggle
It was always associated in my book with one who didn't want to win or go to the front and regardless of where we were entering this last round we would never be lacking in effort The sport is not what it was which is why a lot of us have just given up on it, year's ago That only makes our performance even more remarkable I think our scores have far out performed anything we have done previously  My only disappointment is my own performance but that is not surprising to me We all have our own levels of expectations which in time eventually need lowering  Rest assured I like the rest will Always Be Trying, as it said on the side of our chariot when we started and just playing for Fun Lets give it as good as we have for a final fling Best of Luck guys  |

Morning Cap'n, I'm sure every person in this competition has considered winner after winner in the weeks past, but not chosen them. Selecting the right one is, for us, much harder than a jockey "selecting the right one" when he has a choice. Remarkably THEY get it wrong. Thats why I love this competition. One selection in a full weeks racing can be like picking a needle in a haystack sometimes. It makes you think ahead, finds your weaknesses and tests your resolve. As we grow older and need to keep our brains active I don't think theres anything better.
And we are ALL getting older whether we like it or not...... This may have been a party political broadcast for a new party, Golden Boldies when the competition re appears We can only do our best and when our lucks in, the points flow. When your lucks out, its frustrating. Thats gambling!! Well Done Motseel, place points are better than no points. We're off the mark in the final countdown.Thieves'r'us!!!! |
