A strike rate of 8.7% must be one of the lowest to win the coveted Div 3 championship. But it's no surprise if you know that one of the winners was a 66/1 on Saturday! Hale-Bopp,  for it was he, only had one other winner, a 6/1 much earlier in the month. Those scores left him with a whopping £45 profit for the month. Very well done sir!

The boppster is of course from the swift-tuttle stable and is one of four newcomers to crowd out the transportation zone. There's DeSSieReborn deservedly in second. But for that 66/1 he would have been champ, with a string of fine winners set off by that terrific 25/1 on day three. Souper!

In third we have NonVintage, who started off relatively quietly with a couple of winners, then slamming home that 22/1 on the 18th. Very nice indeed.

Then there's jimnast in fourth with a fine string of scores - a very creditable 41% strike rate - topped by an 11/2 mid-month.   You will note that the top four are all in profit of £12 or more. Cool! It should inspire anyone who fancies joining us to have a go!

Then in fifth we have one of the competition's great stalwarts, look - it's snowing, who was down with us for some well-earned R&R but lost no time fighting to get back upstairs (hope it wasn't anything I said). No bonkeroonies for the snowman, just a steady trickle of shorties that just managed to get him over the line with another odds-on today. No surprise to learn that he had by far and away the biggest strike rate of 63.6%. Well done snowy, even if it knocked me out!

A final shout-out to our champion's stable mate Kohoutek, with a fine last-day winner: Oud Metha Bridge  at 4/1. It only took him up one to 16th but it's a nice way to finish things off.
