Currently on here, a 5/2 winner wins 25 + 10 = 35, a 1/4 winner wins 2.50 + 10 = 12.50 and a loser loses 0, how can that be right?

If you have a 25/10 a winner, you win 25,

If you have a 2.50/10 a winner, you win 2.50

If you have 10 on a loser, you lose 10

ok, but you do see there is no material difference in the scores?
All I have done for reasons I considered way back when I first conceived the comp is to have a baseline of 0 rather than -80 for all 8 losing selections. So stake is not removed for losers therefore it's not removed for winners (apart from the place anomaly).

All i have ever seen is when folks nap 1/5  1/4 shots etc, they sometimes lose.

3 good winners today, firstly unluckyStu kept the Shrewdies in winning form with 11/4 Happy Romance.
Then two for the Each Way Thieves, exactaman picked Bayston Hill at 10/3 EW, and Flemski_ had 7/4 Leroy Leroy.

Regarding the message I posted on each team thread about possible change to scoring, I won't be doing anything for this next round as I don't want to rush it.
I've had it brought to my attention that giving full stake back on placed horses may encourage negative ew betting on odds-on shots as it's an "easy" 10pts return.
Now I personally don't think it's much of an issue as few participants aim for these "sure things" but how do you feel about it?

Might we be better off ignoring the stake altogether so only profits count and losers don't go -10?

Fine as it is Undecided.

Do not understand the proposed change in any way,surely the scoring system should reflect real bets.

If you bet each way,you do not expect a return on the win part,if your horse is placed only.

No problem people sticking up real shorties,again there are punters that see these horses as value.

I like to see people putting up winners,regardless of their team,we all know how hard it can be.

Agree with the above about not changing the rules.

As regards short prices - when does a short price become acceptable - I guess it can only come down to self regulation. Is it in the spirit of the competition? Obviously, you couldn't stipulate odds against because of the possibility of the horse shortening up before the race.

Anyway, I think we can all agree regarding your efforts in running the competition.

An absolute storming week for The Shrewdies, well 8 days to include last Saturday's cracking winner from ItsMeSwaddle.
5 scores and a superb 300pts plus total for Round 2 - Congratulations
Each Way Thieves turned around their poor first round with a great total of 250pts, supplemented by the captain's sterling 11/1 EW winner, nice one stewpot best score of the week!
Humbugs had 3 winners today and top 200pts for a fine 3rd overall.
Racing Demons improved on Round 1 with a sound 4th place.
Cleeve Hill Mob's total in 5th would have won round 1, well done.
