Welcome to all team members as follows undecided madhatter qqking dukeofpuke bluenose7 The Sawyer lockup Aquarius
Could you all check in here before tomorrow (Saturday) evening as we still appear to be awaiting confirmation of The Sawyer's participation. I trust you have all got your last racecourse gallops in and are primed for the action starting on Sunday. undecided will set out the rules in full on the main thread. Put simply, each team member has one selection per week (Sunday to Saturday) and this can be either win or each-way. Generally in the past, as far as I remember, the vast majority of selections are kept back until Saturday but there is no necessity for this to happen. So if anyone has a strong and decent priced selection earlier in the week there is no reason not to use that selection and put some pressure on the other teams. If any week any member is going to be unable to post for any reason, could they please inform me so that we can use a wildcard. Hopefully this will not happen, but the wildcard will be distributed between the remaining members as I think appropriate. So, good luck everybody, and remember this is a fun competition, although as always it would be more fun if we win. Could you all reply to this thread just to confirm that no-one has done a tendon, or similar, over the past couple of weeks
Can't say I fancy mine too much tomorrow but, despite a lot of decent runs, I've only scored once this week with my naps so doubt that picking one earlier in the week would have helped. Been waiting for Venturous, who runs in the 14.20 at Doncaster but it's a bit wet for him so I've worryingly passed him over and gone instead for Ugo Gregory in the 17.10 at the same track, 10pts win at about 9/2-5/1. Likes the distance, likes the ground, drawn on what appears to be the favoured side and is in a fine run of form. Good luck team with whatever you pick. Cheers, Mad

Difficult choice between 2 for me today and have eventually gone for Elle Est Grande in the 4.53 at Kelso. A decent 10lb claimer on board hopefully will be enough to enable this to win

I'm going in early on Fantasy Master in the 1.50 Nottingham has won the last 2 there the 1st race at 80-1 no chance of those odds again but around the 11-4 mark in a small race with the 80-1 winning jockey back on board Tom Marquand

Looks like we will need a double double digit priced winner so have started looking at the 20 runner handicap hurdle at 3.55 Wetherby tomorrow and probably will try to play one there unless we have shot up the table before then. Have currently narrowed it down to 10!!

What's happening, been watching the rugby and just seen we are in the lead. Well done bluenose. You can always, well maybe not always, at least sometimes, rely on JP McManus to come up with a decent priced winner!

Well done team, lets see if we can repeat the win in the last round. bluenose had his big priced winner today, it can be someone else's turn next time, so lets get studying.

I am going to put Barton Knoll up in the 3.05 each way
Looks a competitive race, stable in good form on the flat, and hopefully Jacob will follow my instructions to hold on to the horse for a bit longer this year.
I was around 60 miles away whilst shouting them so he does have an excuse I suppose.

I am afraid I have gone again for Elle Est Grande in the 3.27 at Kelso. Last time out it travelled extremely well on the inside and looked at least to me that it was going to win, but then went out like a light. I am assuming that it broke blood vessels and that that problem has been sorted out. Stable in cracking form recently and Peter Coleman claiming 10lbs looks well worth his claim. The horse has been dropped a further 1 lb from its last run

Town Parks 2.07 Hereford : 10pts win @ about 5/2 Second run of season after a good opener. Five of it's six opponents are making their seasonal debut and the other one is probably better at a shorter distance.

Just catching up with what has been going on. Well done madhatter. I think I said before we should probably aim for horses in the 2/1 to 5/1 bracket. I think we have sometimes been trying to go for too big priced selections when a few within that price range is more achievable. Let us see how it all works out.

As this is the last week of this competition for the autumn, although good news that it is likely to be reconstituted before Cheltenham in March, I think I will assess the scoreboard after the result of the 2.50 at Cheltenham is known and make my selection at that stage. I think my tactic of trying to pick a big enough priced winner at that stage is unlikely to be successful and it would possibly be better just to have my normal selection, although most of them have not been up to much anyway. But I suppose we might as well try and repeat our success of 2 weeks ago. So good luck everybody today and hopefully you will all be willing to return to the team next time.

Last throw of the pin, it's been tough going for me to contribute much, but at least we got the one win. Thank you captain and team for your efforts

Never raced beyond 2m4 apart from a 20L win in an Irish PTP.
If there are doubts over him staying I suppose an amateur/ cj race is the best option. Has probably the best jock on board and I thought it would be shorter/ fav.
Good luck all today

Ok i'll follow AQ's idea and see how we do as we have 4 runners before the 3.00pm cut though the 2.50 may make it a bit tight for time
So i have 3 potentials now Dell' Arca is a non runner, 3.25 Captain Tom Cat 4.60,3.40 Good Effort 3.45,8.30 Smokey 5.70

I think we will need Commander Lady to win for us to have a realistic chance of winning. I was deciding between Elle Est Belle, which I went for, and Howzer Black in the 7.00 at Wolverhampton but I saw that Stewpot had gone for Howzer Black, so I didn't think there was any point in going for that one.

Thanks once again to all team members, after being slowly out of the stalls we eventually manged to snatch 4th place overall. I am surprised about the amount of vitriol being posted because of the dead-heat in the 3.55 at Cheltenham yesterday. Most people think it was because of the bets that people had on the race but we all know it was because it enabled us to snatch 4th place overall. Some people can be bad losers! Hope to see you all back for the next edition of this competition, we need to be quicker out of the stalls next time.
