Successful w*nkers.

This division is a complete joke now. One guy with four entries picking the same shorty virtually every day and the other brave guys looking for 1/6 chances each day.

There are no financial incentives for doing well in this tipping competition. Yet for the most part, the competition is real with napsters striving to win and to get into the Premier with the idea of winning the monthly title.
Practice has shown that, once you are in the Premier, the safest way to stay there is to pick shorties until the very end of the month and, when you are safe, perhaps have a go at an outsider. As far as I can see, this strategy rarely succeeds in actually winning the title. Maybe there are other reasons for napsters pursuing the short odds strategy. Assuming that this competition is a side event to the main one of actually showing a profit through backing (or laying, or a combination of both), maybe the idea is to test the selection method and to hone skills on identifying 'bad' odds-on shots. This is what I do in a roundabout way - for most of the last few weeks, I've been trying to tip a really long-priced winner. Rather predictably, I find myself languishing at the bottom of Division 3. Time for a complete change of strategy next month - mixture of short ones and 'no selections' I think. |
