What a way to gain not just promotion but the championship! Auntie Bernard's Chinese Laundry, a recent addition to the mini me stable, got it spot on at the finish with Lord Clenaghcastle at a basheronious 16/1 to fly 16 places up the table to the summit. Superbulous! Who'da thunkit? His scores have been pretty modest up till now and he hasn't had a winner for more than a week. Just goes to show, it ain't over till the flat nag wins.
It came as a slight blow to the man he deposed, xmoneyx, but I don't suppose he's too miffed as he ascends into napping heaven (Class II) from second place and the second highest strike rate of the month.
Another mini me runner, Leixlip Confey, takes third after a pretty consistent performance, highlighted by yesterday's 15/2, a 13/2 and a 6/1. An excellent fourth goes to Gorgeous George, winless until four days ago when he started a hat-trick run with a glorious 20/1! Super stuff. 
And in fifth place, with another winner today, is Basil_the_don. His odds-on made no difference to the outcome though: it was his 12/1 the day before wot dunnit. 
Hard luck the rest, notably Chazzyb, bumped out of the places by today's big winner.
Keep the faith chaz.
One to watch for October though is Roysratings, part of PAT's entourage - can't remember if he/she/it is the one always late for doing the crossword. Roy notched the month's highest strike rate of just over 42% to finish 14th, not bad for someone who started half way through the month.
And, talking of PAT'S PLAYTHING, he was the day's only other winner with Unfortunately at 100/30. Unfortunately indeed, as it was nowhere near enough to get him clear of the zone of despair. Have a word with Roy mate, he/she/it'll set you straight.
Not a spectacular month overall, with the top shots just scraping over the £10 mark, even though there were a fair few big winners. Anyway, grateful for all your messages and ... on to October. Thanks for being part of the competition and hope you all return to have another bash.

Roy's carer--is Patricia--uses the daily paper to make her selection(no paper on a Sunday) So I picked her selection today-when I was doing mine.--was pleased with Roysratings effort this (part month)---BUT how many of Mini Me stable got promotions this month in different divisions !!!--well done Mini Me
