The only winner of the day was majorupshotbagley who got back onto the winning trail after a frustrating series of placed horses with 4/7 chance Eclat Des Mottes. Well done major.
But there is another story lurking amongst the losers. I checked the results mid-afternoon and saw that DFCIRONMAN had picked an 8/1 winner Muroor and I thought, that's really good because he just got pipped by a nose on a 12/1 chance the other day.
When it came to final settling, I discovered that the spreadsheet had pronounced that DFC had lost. What?, surely some mistake. looked up the result and I paste the performance of Muroor (and jockey) below:
8th Muroor 5 11-8 Vsor 91 McCourt, T G Maxwell, C D 9.00
soon tracked leaders, 4th from 4th, soon headway, stayed on well run-in, led close home, disqualified - rider failed to draw the correct weight
'Struth! As I said the other day, when things aren't going for you, then they're not going for you.
Bad luck DFC, really really bad luck. Keep plugging away, I'm sure it'll come right.

Thanks S-T and SS............Was a "strange" race, as my nap was well held up for most of race. The jockey always looked like he knew the ones ahead of him were going too fast too early and he looked "comfortable" still holding his horse up!
He then started , late in race, to move horse through the field......and never gave up in his belief that his horse still had a chance to win. So no criticism levied at the jockey , as he timed his move well and judged pace of race very well indeed!
I admit that I switched off the racing after the race believing ,finally, I had pinned a winner this month! It was only after you had put up the table S-T that I discovered NOPE.......just another horse running well, ....but no win!
I usually don't get a winner in first 2 weeks of month SS.......so, SO FAR, nothing different this month
........Better get one soon
