The Rules:

The competition will cover 30 or so of the most competitive races of the Flat season.

A thread on which selections can be posted will be put up a couple of days before the race and selections can be made up to 1/2hr before race time.

Players are given 2 stake points per race.
Players can use the 2pts on 1 selection or share the 2pts between 2 selections, 1pt each.
Points will be awarded based on each selections finishing position down to 5th place.
Results will be settled at SP.

1st place will get stake x 14 x SP
2nd place will get stake x 7 x SP
3rd place will get stake x 4 x SP
4th place will get stake x 2 x SP
and 5th place will get stake x 1 x SP

Non-runners:
If you choose one selection, please nominate a reserve just in case of late withdrawal.
If you choose two selections and one is a non-runner, your 2pts will go on the remaining selection, unless you left a reserve.
In either case you can replace a non-runner as normal up to the 1/2hr cut-off time.
If you make a selection with no reserve, and it doesn't run, your 2pts will go on the favourite (in case of jt or co favs then the 2pts will go on the one which is highest in the hcap)

In the event of dispute, my decision will be final.

Official Dress code this week
I have tried to extract from the 'official site' to ensure we have authentic adoption

I do believe we should establish some codes in place for those
especially for those who have acquired tickets for the exclusive "Front Room suites"

Anticipated and revered, these five days are made for socialising.
Long seen as a spectacle of fashion and style, they are referenced the world over.
So for this week we are trying to ensure your maximum enjoyment of the entertainment on show
(and I thought it was all about Top Class Racing

)

Decided we should adopt a few in house rules to keep us in line with the sartorial elegance
we associate with this week of our competition

The least you must wear is a hat preferably one of distinction
If any of you have a midriff it asks that you keep it covered (this needs signing off given the weather forecast)
Wearing of high heels is not recommended (It is there in black & white, sorry Steph & others)
Gentlemen please remove your hats if you are within the eating area
(I assume it is somewhere to store your pheasant pie for later consumption)
Ensure feathers are not excessive in length (& no birds are harmed in the plucking of them)

To embrace the celebratory nature of racing at Royal Ascot,
each person (over the age of 18) is permitted to bring with them
one regular bottle of sparkling wine or Champagne to accompany their picnic.
No other type of alcoholic drink will be permitted into the enclosure
and all picnics will be searched on entry.
For clarity, bottles of Beer, Cider, Spirits, Wine, Pimms or similar
will not be allowed into the enclosure.

Throughout the year we have a picnic blanket only policy;
no other furniture is permitted into the enclosure.

I have had to exclude one or two restrictive rules
(just to let you give that skirt an outing Steph, certain rules have to be flexible)
Believe me 90% of the above is genuine
Not many shopping days left so I hope this doesnt mean too much of a rethink for all
feeling I may be getting a visit from an Ascot Jobsworth or get the topic pulled

If you are at all in doubt
please forward me pictures for approval, or post on Youtube
