A very significant winner on the final day, as qqking bags Kaeso at a humpatious 11/1 to surge six places into fourth and promotion. And that just two days after hitting on a 14/1 winner. Very well done that man.
And exceptionally well done that man tictacman1, who scoots upstairs with more than £23 in his pocket after bagging the championship. I never thought it would happen as he strugglesd doggedly in the nether regions of the table. I admired his effort greatly, shaking my head at the poor reward he got for his efforts. No More! A very worthy champion indeed, with two 12/1s and a 10/1 among his winners. Great napping.
Well done to swift-tuttle on gaining second, crowning his four winners that included an 11/1 with a 16/1 smasher yesterday that sealed his promotion.
The effervescent scissors ends in a worthy third, never quite able to muster the ammunition to grab the top spot in the end despite some bold promises, but 10 worthy winners were enough to settle his elevation.
And then there's the great trouper deadbrain59, with no spectacular winners but by far the highest strike rate of nearly 73%. Included in that was a streak of 14 straight winners and 16 out of his first 17 selections. It all went a bit dry at the end but he'd done just enough to see himself promoted in fifth.
Hard luck on the almost-promoted, bluenose7 who was done today by that 11/1 shot just as I was in Div 2. Commiserations brother! And to la mallatiere, who ends up a nearly man for the second straight month, in seventh despite today's 13/8 winner.
And well done to all who took part simply for doing just that and helping to make this a great competition. Hope to see you all back in May!
