One fantastic last day gatecrasher and another great score that left a napster just a squidly short of doing the same. Not the most exciting of last days, but it did have those two great highlights. And it left us with a table where the man who didn't quite make it ended with a tally of more than £13, more than enough in a 'normal' month to jump on the train to Div 2.
But first off very well done to Basil_the_don who, despite a loser today, ends the month on more than £40 profit at the summit, more than £23 ahead of the chasing pack. And it's down to strikes that included a 6/1, 7/1 12/1 and finally that humungous 33/1 mid-month. Basil's one of four new boys among the promoted five (although one is a returnee). I'll be interesting to see how they fare upstairs.
Leading the chasers as of just today is the only old-stager to bag a ticket to upstairs, undecided, who earned 8/1 on Gothic Empire at 8/1 to shoot up five to second at the last gasp. It's great to see this indefatigable napster get a boost, which only happened over the last three days: a 33/1 three days ago (two in one month, wow!) and today's 8/1. That's called leaving it a bit late, or is it patience is a virtue? Brilliant stuff anyway UD.
Well done too to third-placed Eborman, notching just four strikes of 6/1, 9/1, 10/1 and 14/1 (big numbers to get him into the big time); lmlac, up with just two hits of 9/1 and 25/1; and our new chum who feels like an old chum madrigal who, as I predicted, bagged the month's highest strike rate of nearly 52% and a top score of 6/1. I'm sure he'll have a whale of a time upstairs.
But real hard luck to Lord Charles, this month's nearly man who banged in the second last-day winner, Rich Again at a handsome 17/2. Rich again indeed, but not quite rich enough to kick the musical one out of fifth. Nice winner, but hard luck my lord. 
Quite a bumper month that, with 13 in profit. I really enjoyed it. I hope even those tireless strugglers who are the backbone of the div did too. Thanks for all your kind messages today and I really hope to see you all in October!
