madhatter, I understand your frustration, I had a similar experience in June (away in Asia) but there is actually a rule about not posting on the first day of the month.

Ok Reged...two things....

1. Why does that rule exist? I can truly see no reason to it? If someone doesn't post until day 6 then why aren't they just deducted their 5 grace days and then cannot miss any further days (except Sundays) that month?

2. I have expressed countless times this year that my aim was to average +4.00 every month without getting promoted and thereby potentially win the yearly title with about +48.00

Is that not a declaration of intention to post each and every month?

The rule is there because many people decide not to continue at the end of the month but don't bother telling me. This means they end up much higher up the table than they ought to be - which is stone bottom. warhan is an example this month. He would be in ninth place but for the rule. I can't just assume he's no longer in the comp. Maybe he's off on a long hol. Perhaps people think this is actually a bad ideda. If enough do then I will happily change it.

I can understand your anger, but it would be better directed at Betfair. We have all suffered. I lost a 4/1 winner that would have ensured promotion one month but there wasn't much I could do about it other than send a snotty email to BF. Much good that did me. They simply don't care. You just have to accept it as a hazard of the enterprise. One thing you could have done was alerted me to the problem on day 2, which would at least have saved you a point. It is also vital to ensure your post has actually 'stuck' - ie you see it there after posting - though that is no cast-iron guarantee it won't be censored later (still not got an answey on Y eats).

I do this 'job' day in, day out for nothing except the pleasure of enabling others to have fun. I can't be spending extra time interpreting this, that and the other to work out what the situation is. That's what the rules are for in part, to make the lives of settlers that little bit easier.

But I hope your anger subsides enough to persuade you to carry on. It would be a real shame to see you go.

If you remember back to the end of December (when I recorded my worst ever monthly total of -21.00 Blush), I said I would attempt a more 'fish-like' (salmon spray) approach to this year, but without resorting to the very long odds on shots, trying to focus on prices around 4/5 to 6/4.
I reasoned that, if I could average about 4.00 or 5.00 pounds profit a month then that £48-60 would put me well close to being the Naps champion for 2016, knowing betme won last year's title with just under 48 quid.

Furthermore, if I was always about +5.00 per month, then I could probably spend the whole year here in Div 3 with you (normally need +7 at least to get promoted from here) yet still 'do' them premiership boys that only nap to avoid relegation rather than seek profitable overall performance.

So far it's going almost to plan Shocked with just -1.21 last month and at least +7.38 this one!
