Sorry Salmon I was unaware of the ruling, apologies undecided.

Salmon I have just read the ruling on the reserve am I right in saying because my selection is in the 2.30 there is no way I can place a reserve tonight with me being away in the morning?
If so what is the reasoning behind this?

Hi petemac, in the past we had no reserves at all, if you weren't around to replace a non-runner, or if it was after the cut-off time then selection was lost. This wasn't a problem for years although occasionally a team would not be able to use all their eight.
Someone once had the idea to start posting reserves and I allowed it. However I'm not keen on it being available all week long, so if I am to draw a line somewhere it would be the 3pm cut-off.
That's the current state, further discussions to take place on this subject with a view to a rule change, opinions welcome.

You don't want it getting too messy.

There is for instance the option to replace any non-runners with LRF or Fav in the race of original selection or similar.

Well yes petemac, that's my worry, that it gets too messy and for what, so far this year we haven't had to use a single reserve?
