The Rules

There will be 10 fortnightly rounds, 20 weeks in total plus a Christmas break
Each round and each week within rounds will begin on a Sunday and finish on a Saturday.
Each team will have 8 selections per week, one from each player, duplicate selections are allowed but no duplicate selections within teams at any time. Players must use their 1 selection per week, it cannot be carried over to the other week in the round.
10pts win or 5pts EW on British, Irish, French (as long as an industry SP is returned) or UAE Festival racing and Breeder's Cup meeting, selected any day, Sunday through Saturday, the week ends on the last Saturday race.
Settled at SP, EW terms as industry standard.
Selections must be posted at least one hour before race time. On Saturdays there will be a 3pm cut-off for selections, that is you may pick in any race after that but it has to be posted by 3pm (1hr rule still applies).
Once you have posted a selection you are not allowed to change it or the stake, unless it becomes a non-runner or is a duplicate.
Non Runners - that team member may choose again for that week.
If you are selecting in a race after 3pm Saturdays you may leave a reserve just in case of non-runners. The reserve will only apply to your own selection and not any other teammates' non runner.
Other than above, reserve selections are not allowed, nor is posting "just-in-case"  selections for team mates that may or may not turn up.

Wildcards are available to cover holiday or other absence and covering for non-runners.
Team captains will be responsible for managing any wildcards required, there are no restrictions on their use, but please try and share them around so that no one individual is always claiming them. Please also name who the wildcard is for when posting.

Teams will start the week from a baseline of 0pts. This equates to 8 losing selections and/or non-selections.
Subsequent scores will be added to this baseline plus return of the winning part of the stake (10pts for win and EW winner, 5pts for EW placed). All scores count.
Scores will be accumulated through the fortnight, there will be no points awarded for weekly finishing positions.

Points structure for overall yearly comp:
Fortnightly winners will receive 6pts, runners-up - 5pts, 3rd - 4pts, 4th - 3pts, 5th - 2pts, 6th - 1pt

Hi Whippin Piccadilly, the AW Barons are no longer, off-course you would be welcome to join another team but it looks like there are no spare places. If someone drops out as they do from time to time then you'll be first reserve, can I pm you if that happens?

Sorry, it is too late, it's taken over a month to get teams sorted and I'm away next week and have to prepare the spreadsheet accordingly.
The trouble with trying to sign up 7 newbies at this late stage is that they say yeah great idea then that's the last you hear of them.
I really appreciate that you are keen to join in though, at this stage there is one player that I'm not sure will turn up so I promise you'll be in if they don't or indeed if anyone else drops out.

On Sats if you are picking after 3.00PM does the reserve have to be in the same race ?
I think I spotted another possible complication but can't think of it now so I'll leave you with that one for the moment.

Hi EIRROG, Spain - the Mar Menor, love that area, sunny and hot mostly but poured down with a vengeance on Friday.

salmon, I rely on the old hands to break the system , the reserve can be in any race, but I emphasize that it will only cover the original post 3pm selection, it cannot be transferred to any other team mates' non-runner. We did have this concession if you like towards the end of the last comp and I don't think there was any issue with it.
