I faced a devil of a bowler too. Reminiscent of Joel Garner

Great stuff George, well done.

Speechless Shane , great pick and your in cracking form of late. Have to see if that takes you top of Division 1 soon. The captain sets the standard then the vice-captain follows up. Well done with your pick George.

Big Bird was one of my heroes when I first started following cricket as an 8 year old. That somerset team was some one day side back then.

I used to love watching Michael Holding bowl. Whispering death he was called.

How you could face him without a helmet , must have been scary. Malcolm Marshall was some bowler from that era as well.

Brian Close was either brave or mad to face up to that.

This one at Botham - the ball somehow went between his head and his helmet

Fantastic stuff yesterday guys. Would be some turnaround if we win this week.

Superb selections this week guys, specially Shane at a cracking 11/1, very well done to all. I didn't bother with Sandown yesterday, it was a toss up between that and Xmas shopping for my daughter .... what was I thinking
. I will be there this afternoon though, I just wish Sacre was (apparently he will be running after Xmas). Look for me on the TV, I will be carrying a copy of the Racing Post OK I hope I continue this weeks good run by all, so i'm going for a win on a novice I saw a few weeks back who really impressed me and probably won't be running in a class 4 next time out. Hopefully it stays odds against. One Track Mind - 12.25 Chepstow Reserve : Irish Saint - 13.50 Sandown Good luck FCH |

Very unlucky Andrew.
I have really struggled to pick one out today. Was really impressed with Balbriggan - 1.30 Aintree (e/w), when he won in Ireland a couple of weeks ago, although its a bit of a risky one. Just caught up with the results for the last couple of days. Great pick Captain yesterday and nice one too George. We've done well to go from bottom to top during the week so far. |

Very unlucky guys , just not our day today.

Great week 2 though after a poor first week, well done troops.

Sorry guys, my selection jinxed early and unseated the jockey. Well backed (it was 2.12 when I posted) and the 2nd fav only won in a photo, so who knows, but that's racing
Sandown was OK, although the going was a lot softer than the description IMO. I didn't bother going until the before the 3rd race, which was the only winner I backed, although I didn't stay for the last either. Well done to the team this week, a brilliant recovery. |

Balbriggan and Oscar Whisky both put down

Great effort in turning things around. That's two solid weeks and hopefully the momentum is with us. You never know even I might find something! It's even more frustrating that over the last couple of days I have managed to find a couple of decent winners which would have seen us over the line. Definitely won't be going in early tomorrow.
Good luck all. |

Sad to hear Andrew - I feared the worst for Balbriggan as he was pulled up so quickly.

Great pick Custard
. Annoyed that I didn't look at today's racing as I would have put him up as my daily nap I have just heard that the documentary about Dream Alliance and his story (part funded by the British Film Institute and Channel 4) is to have it's world premiere at the Sundance Festival, Utah at the end of January !! I was hoping that it would be a bit more local so I could go. I believe that it should be on Channel 4 at some point, but maybe not until 2016. |
