3 people get stranded on a remote island. An investment banker, a Daily Mail reader & an asylum seeker. All they have to eat is a box of 10 Mars bars. The Banker says "Because of my expertise in asset management, I'll look after our resources"
The other 2 agree. So the Banker opens the box, gobbles down 9 of the Mars bars and hands the last one to the Daily Mail reader. He then says " I'd keep an eye on that asylum seeker, he's after your Mars Bar” |

Bill and his wife Blanche go to the Yorkshire show every year,
And every year Bill would say, " Blanche, I'd like to ride in that there 'elicopter " Blanche always replied, " I know Bill, but that 'elicopter ride is twenty quid, And twenty quid is twenty quid ! " One year Bill and Blanche went to the fair, and Bill said, " Blanche, I'm 75 years old. If I don't ride that there 'elicopter, I might never get another chance " To this, Blanche replied, " Bill that 'elicopter ride is twenty quid, and twenty quid is twenty quid " The pilot overheard the couple and said, " I'll make you a deal. I'll take the both of you for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and don't say a word I won't charge you a penny ! But if you say one word it's twenty quid. " Bill and Blanche agreed and up they went. The pilot did all kinds of fancy maneuvers, but not a word was heard. He did his daredevil tricks over and over again, But still not a word... When they landed, the pilot turned to Bill and said, " By golly, I did everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn't.. I'm impressed ! " Bill replied, " Well, to tell you t'truth I almost said summat when Blanche fell out, But tha' knows, twenty quid is twenty quid" |

The Rules
There will be 10 fortnightly rounds, 20 weeks in total plus a Christmas break Each round and each week within rounds will begin on a Sunday and finish on a Saturday. Each team will have 8 selections per week, one from each player, duplicate selections are allowed but no duplicate selections within teams at any time. Players must use their 1 selection per week, it cannot be carried over to the other week in the round. 10pts win or 5pts EW on British, Irish, French (as long as an industry SP is returned) or UAE Festival racing and Breeder's Cup meeting, selected any day, Sunday through Saturday, the week ends on the last Saturday race. Settled at SP, EW terms as industry standard. Selections must be posted at least one hour before race time. On Saturdays there will be a 3pm cut-off for selections, that is you may pick in any race after that but it has to be posted by 3pm (1hr rule still applies). Once you have posted a selection you are not allowed to change it or the stake, unless it becomes a non-runner or is a duplicate. Non Runners - that team member may choose again for that week. If you are selecting in a race after 3pm Saturdays you may leave a reserve just in case of non-runners. The reserve will only apply to your own selection and not any other teammates' non runner. Other than above, reserve selections are not allowed, nor is posting "just-in-case" selections for team mates that may or may not turn up. Wildcards are available to cover holiday or other absence and covering for non-runners. Team captains will be responsible for managing any wildcards required, there are no restrictions on their use, but please try and share them around so that no one individual is always claiming them. Please also name who the wildcard is for when posting. Teams will start the week from a baseline of 0pts. This equates to 8 losing selections and/or non-selections. Subsequent scores will be added to this baseline plus return of the winning part of the stake (10pts for win and EW winner, 5pts for EW placed). All scores count. Scores will be accumulated through the fortnight, there will be no points awarded for weekly finishing positions. Points structure for overall yearly comp: Fortnightly winners will receive 6pts, runners-up - 5pts, 3rd - 4pts, 4th - 3pts, 5th - 2pts, 6th - 1pt Competition schedule: Round 1 - 28 Sep to 11 Oct Round 2 - 12 Oct to 25 Oct Round 3 - 26 Oct to 8 Nov Round 4 - 9 Nov to 22 Nov Round 5 - 23 Nov to 6 Dec Round 6 - 7 Dec to 20 Dec Christmas break Round 7 - 18 Jan to 31 Jan Round 8 - 1 Feb to 14 Feb Round 9 - 15 Feb to 28 Feb Round 10 - 1 Mar to 14 Mar |

My happy go lucky, jokey, self depreciating p1ss taking demeanor is only a front.
I`ll be like a Ryder Cup Captain cometh the hour, no stone left unturned. I`ll stoop as low as possible to derail the other teams and ensure we crush the spirit out of them, leaving them for dead. “Winning has nothing to do with racing. Most days don't have races anyway. Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism, and never, ever, ever giving up.” |

I don`t mean to patronize anyone here but please read and familiarize yourselves with the rules.
I remember some who competed in the past weren`t always entirely sure at times. |

I can see a few of my selections being Tuesday afternoon China.
In the winter my kids think Tuesday is payday! |

mackies - just wait until some see a nap that you feel will bring the team some points.
Always remember, each way is an option. |
