Shane apologies for not posting for the second day in a row. I should let you know if I don't have a selection so I'm sorry. You do a fantastic job on here, as do all the other settlers and it's very much appreciated.
Increasingly I've become completely disillusioned with the Competition so my days are numbered. I'll let you know well in advance of the time that I ultimately call it a day.
In my mind the Competition is very simple. There are x number of race meetings on any given day, and there are y number of horses running in those races. My basic understanding of the Competition is that across all those y horses in all those x races, the participants are free to decide which horse they wish to choose on any given day, irrespective of whether that selection is odds-on or odds-against.
If we start to bring in some kind of handicapping system or a restriction on the number of odds-on selections that anyone can post then I'm out. Dubai Prince in his thread is clearly trying to take the Competition down a totally different route, and it's one that I disagree with.
Gents on any given day, every single participant in the Competition should be free to choose any horse that they wish to choose, whether that horse is 1/7 or 100/1. I thought that was the basic underlying principle of the Competition but if I'm wrong about that FREEDOM OF CHOICE then I'll leave.
Shane thank you again for the superb job you do for us on here, from your close pal the soldieroffortune.
Totally agree with this. At the end of the day, there are more than one ways to skin a cat and napsters should be free to choose whatever horse they like. Myself and Soldier do have similar strategies but the beauty of the competition is that the strategy goes head to head with some of the wonderful napsters like China to see what works best over the course of a month. Good post Solj and I think a lot of napsters will agree that trying to restrict selections would rip the heart straight out of the competition. I am all for changing for the better but not only to suit some strategies more than others.

I`m afraid I can`t accept any form of resignation from yourself now or in the foreseeable.
What is the cause of your increased disillusionment? Is it just the recent debate?

Fidway good to hear from you, I hope all is well mate.
Shane you do an absolutely brilliant job on here for us. I doubt any of us realise the amount of time and effort you put in on our behalf, and on a completely voluntary basis. I take my hat off to you, Reg and all the other settlers for the hard work you put in.
It's very disappointing to read the thread that Dubai Prince has posted. It's littered with "Over to you Shane" "Over to you Shane", "Over to you", like he's happy to chuck out plenty of grenades and then expect you to clear up the debris.
Dubai it's really really simple mate - if you don't like the Competition as it currently stands with all the effort and commitment that the settlers have put in - then why don't you simply f*ck off and find another Competition to play in. It's really really simple mate.
Shane we're close pals on here you and I and thank you again for all the effort you put in on our behalf.

I am good soldier, I might be joining you in the Premier league next month.
The competition is fine the way it is . I must admit I can't see the attraction of going for the shortest price horse day in day out and have aired that opinion on many occasions but its a competition and some people approach it in different ways.

Fidway you're having an excellent month at the top of Division 1 and I hope that continues for you mate.
You are a classic example of a napster who is far more talented than I am, but we have different strategies and different approaches and that's all part of the beauty of the competition.
See you next month if I manage to stay up.
