Who Started The Naps Tables And When ?

I first joined naps table in 2005 i think when there were 5 divisions and someone called sandyB ran the conference but reckon he retired due to ill health.
I have seen the instigator mentioned on here before and think he may have been a New Zealander, his name possibly started with an 'n'? I think Ricky S or Slippy B may remember who it was?

Yes I joined in 2007 and there was a Conference,but in my day it was run by chypmunk. That does mean I have been promoted 4 times,petemac please note.
I am hoping one of the greybeards can come up with the answer tomorrow. Did Bf encourage it at one time ?

His tag says that ricky joined july 2000 and he has always been in the compy as far as i can remember....think he is out best bet for an answer salmon.
Did you notice that ironman in Div 3 joined in june 2000, that was probably on the day it opened it's doors!

Didn't Ratpack have something to do with it?

I also believe the winner of the Premier Division used to get a BF goody bag

shane and pete came up with the original idea salmon, back in the 1940's when they were both teenagers. True story that.

I only joined the forum in 2004, ratpack was heading things then, he might know. The name Lippy springs to mind but might be getting wires crossed, sorry salmon don't know for sure.

My previous ID was Ex-pat in Germany, but I amended it when I moved to Sweden in 2007. Salmon is correct, there was a conference division in earlier days and Ratpack was certainly involved around 2003.

Yes I've looked up ratpack. I always get Hoiles and Holt mixed up but it is the former. Always seemed a very reasonable and decent bloke when he did post. Looks as though he hasn't for about a year but on the thread I found he does say he started the Naps Tables.

I played in 2003 & can confirm Ratpack helped run it that year
but he was not the originator of the comp
the only name that I could bring back was a CraigT but may just have been a player

I'm not entirely sure the exact date the leagues began but a Kiwi called Lippy, ratpack and zakalwe were the first the ones who ran two divisions in the early days.

don't know who originated it but Chypmunk was intsrumental when i started playing. Think he stopped on here when they introduced the Account Verification stuff - big brother et al.

You're right about chypmunk bb. He ran The Conference when I started but seemed to be the one the others looked to if there was a dilemma. He did indeed leave over KYC. He was a Humbug and by that time I was captain so had to recruit to replace him.

Cheers Ricky - I said at the start of the thread that I thought it was a NZ that started it so we are maybe looking at Lippy as the originator, although the name doesn't ring a bell for me.
