Are you sure that's not a bit too risky Lampus ?
|
|
By:
u may be right salmon
first time over the jumps only won a bumper Thanks salmon |
|
By:
I'm praying that Rickster, Moose or UD win this because if someone who put up 1/8 and 1/6 losers wins it then it definitely was the chumpions league. No disrespect Lampus but having seen the fantastic tipping you've done in the team comp over the years your tactics in this comp suck. Bah Humbug!!

The Nicky horse will be 1/4 on Sct Reckless about 9/2 . the rest 33/1 in the bin
|

DeSSie Lampus has put those up when his opponent has already lost. Unless his league position means he needs more than 2pts that seems to me to be the correct tactics. If you go first then obviously you should go longer.
If you don't like the rules don't play. |

Thank you salmon
u said it was risky Thank you from another odds on loser ![]() |

Keep posting them odds on shot ..and you win zero

Salmon having seen how the first one has gone I'd say this is simply an extension of the premier division. Having experienced it I think a points system might be more creative (ie odds on winner 0 point, Evens to 2/1 1 point, above 2/1 to 4/1 2 points, above 4/1 to 6/1 3 points, above 6/1 4 points, above 10/1 5 points. Something to encourage open tipstering. All the current format does is discourage it, just like the premiership does. I entered to see how it went, and was pleasantly surprised how many were willing initially to play openly. But its just playing into the hands of sharks, and if its to be run in the future there has to be something done to stop the "waiters" being able to cash in on odds on shots. No points for odds on winners would at least make the comp a little harder for those waiters. I'm kinda in zippers corner but not quite, if you know what I mean.
Although it was good to participate in the first running, under the same rules I think I'd leave a follow up to premiership boys |
|
By:
Why don't you run something along those lines DeSSie. Sounds a good idea. Wouldn't be for me though

As you say Dessie, the points awarded (I`m sure) will be looked at by undecided if he runs it again.

Don't think Lampus 'cashed' in on last one
Theres a risk involved going that direction too I know - i played against a cple ![]() The corner ain't big enough for Zips ego & anyone else ![]() |

This competition has nothing to do with beating the bookie or anyone's ability to show profit/loss, it has everything to do with beating your opponent and surely Lampus has got to the final by doing just that under the existing rules so stop Knocking the Man, he is in the final and if he wins it he wins it deservingly so.
I think I started with a couple of 5/1 winners by posting 1st in the early group but if I needed the points and my opponent had posted a loser I would have went with a "Reg Special" and been looking for a 1/20 shot, simply because of the rules. Rules are Rules and UD has took something difficult on here that is quite time consuming and he won't need me or anyone else for that matter to tell him how he could improve this Comp if he did decide to have another bash. Now all you Napsters who have been knocked out shut the F""" up and let the finalists enjoy their final matches. ![]() |

The knock-out comp a couple of years ago was good ud.
|
|
By:
It was, but in that format it was pretty short lived for most, so I thought I'd add the group element.
|
|
By:
A great example would be the Flamboyant entertainer Alex "Hurricane" Higgins versus Terry "Not the slightest hint of a light breeze" Griffiths. Higgins would always go for a 5/2 shot while Snail Ar** would only ever select a "Reg Special".
If the rules stated you had to go for every shot within 20 seconds the snail would have been lucky to win a frame never mind a match. But he beat Alex a few times by boring the ar** out of him. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz That's match play, I rest my case. |
|
By:
I guessed as such ud.

Terry knew how to wind them up pete

|
By:
He did Shane but you never heard his fellow pro's he had knocked out shout out at him during a Final from the cheap seats.
I met Alex in a pub in Middlesbrough once had a drink and a chat with him and asked him what his biggest disappointment had been? His reply was not seeing Jimmy White win the Snooker World Championship. What can I say about Terry "I would rather watch a centipede change his boots" |
|
By:
I`ve heard that quote from Higgins before.
Terry was a very good player at his peak, as was Thorburn. |

![]() I used to play my cousin every week £1 a frame and £10 bonus first to reach ten.I was 9 nil up one match and ended up losing 10 - 9 and that's the truth. I reckon over the years I paid for half his house. ![]() |
