Virgin said he was "still a little guessy till I recover some form" when he posted his Lingfield picks, well I think he may have stumbled across a winning system here Wink because Virgin's selections earned him maximum points, his winning 8-1 nap Rivellino being the main contributer.

Smar Tarse found 5 of the 8 winners on the Wolverhampton card to take the top spot. ST climbs to 16th and is on the verge of passing the 200-mark.

A good day for uptheboro on Friday, winning the Lingfield comp, then finishing 3rd at Wolverhampton, to take his score for the day to 32. Uptheboro climbs 11 places to 11th.

can you clarify what happens if the nap is a nr in last please

i've been putting the nap as the race before , the same as if it were not a legitimate selection

in all other circumstances it goes on an entrants own choice in the last so i assumed a nap would always be one of their choices whatever race it was a nr in.

i will have to update the scores if necessary for kempton

Non-Running Naps will be transferred to the selection in the Lucky Last (assuming no substitution has been made). In the event the selection in the last is a banned, the nap will transfer to the selection in the penultimate race and so on in the event that is also banned.


Clear as mud then in that it doesn't state clearly what if the NR nap happens to be the last pick - that statement presumes the nap hasn't been picked in the finale Crazy

I would have thought a nap should always be one the entrant has picked, whenever possible, rather than whatever the last race fav is.

But having giving it some thought, there is a potential problem with that, as an unfair advantage can be obtained by an entrant waiting to see how the penultimate pick runs before deciding whether to post an alternative nap in the last.

For example, last race nap is a NR and the penultimate pick wins at 7-1. Great, entrant leaves it at that.
However, if the penultimate pick loses, the entrant then gets another chance to pick a nap by posting an alternative pick for the NR in the last.

I did think the same as Striding, but on reflection, I think the easiest / fairest way to deal with NR naps, is to transfer the nap to whatever the pick is in the last, so that could be the fav if the nap hasn't been changed.

Any further thoughts?
