7 players who couldn't be bothered to post, have been rewarded with a 7/2 winner! A ludicrous situation / rule! Well . . . Firstly, upon what are you basing your assumption that they couldn't be bothered? Have you contacted all of them to find out? Maybe they all have very genuine reasons why they were unable to post. I mean, you're probably right but such an acrimonious statement would be inadmissible in court. Secondly, for as long as I've been taking part in the comp players have been allowed to have an Instruction to cover days when they're unable to post, for whatever reason. The only thing that's changed recently is that every player now has the same Instruction to make life easier for the settlers. So the situation is basically the same as it's ever been. But there does seem to be a psychological point at work here. No-one ever used to comment on a winning Instruction when they were all different. Now they're all the same I've noticed a fair bit of 'you lucky bastard' resentment creeping in across all 4 Divisions. It's illogical but I've been guilty of thinking it myself on a couple of occasions. |

The nature of my job is that sometimes it is an early atart and a late finish. For example yesterday I started at 6am and finished at 9pm. Sadly switching on the PC before I went to to work was not really something I considered. In addition to that I often have no idea when I will finish. So, the fallback of LRF (which incidentally often loses, and is an option available to all) is I think a fair alternative for those of us who are not able to sit in front of our PCs all day, but still wish to take part in the competition.
