Champions League Tipster Comp DRAW

There will be no seeding, except that as la mallatiere is emailing selections to shanelee1966 who will post them here (la m is in a country that doesn't allow access), I will keep them apart.

shanelee1966 will go in Group 1, position 1 (1.1) and la mallatiere will go into Group 2 position 1 (2.1).

That leaves 62 players in the draw on Friday.

ud - if at any time you feel la mallatiere would be best emailing direct to you just say. Obviously only for your comp.

I`m happy to go with whatever you suggest.

This is how the draw will work.

I need a volunteer who can be here on Friday at 7.30pm. This volunteer will post a list of the 62 players, jumbled up from the full list that I will post below. Excel can do a random sort, I can explain how if necessary, or you can just manually cut and paste to mix the order up.

I will post, at the exact same time, a list of group numbers and group positions, again jumbled up, except for the two above.

Working from the top, the first name on the player list will go to the first group/position slot as per my list.

shane, it's not necessary, I'm happy for you to do it.

Top two from each group go through at the end of this stage, then we hold another draw, 32 players into 8 groups.

I'll put up the first week thread on Sunday, obviously the top two matches in each group are the ones scheduled for that first week.

I see I'm up against a premiership player for my opening match so he's probably an odds on player. So a 6/4 winner should do the job

It should be interesting tactically cas, I'm thinking I may play the waiting game unless I see a real standout good thing at odds against but we shall see. I reckon most of the matches will be won by those who play late.

Only just seen the draw.

I've just had another skim through the rules Shane, from what I can gather you have to try and find the shortest priced runner of the day before your opponent.

Undecided  ..? re the comp  . each group play the other guys in that group 3 times  can we  /i put up one nap  any day  and win or lose that stands  eg . i put up micky mouse  it wins at 15/2    thats my final score   its up to the other 3  to beat   15/2

zipper - its match play. You try to pick a bigger priced winner than your opponent in each of your 3 matches.

kicking off against someone called the muppet, i will be the muppet if i lose

zipper, as bettysboy says, you are playing one match per week next three weeks. Your main aim is to beat your opponent by whatever means you see best, for which you'd get 2pts. However there is a bonus pt for getting a winner above Evens, and 1 bonus pt for the best winner in the whole group stage.
