I'll say that again ... doh!

I actually suspect two or three more might be going up due to retirements, so be ready with your bags!

Looks like two have retired from div 1 so leaves two extra places in div 2 to fill. Some great totals above, sixth & seventh will deserve it.

Now that is a table to be proud of, a tribute to an exhilerating month and an exciting final day to boot. Three of the five places decided at the finish! You couldn't want for more. And just look at those totals. The top 10 would have creamed the Prem this month. What a great month it's been!

So huge congratulations to our champion, the dealer, who finished in style with a an 11/8 winner that made it four straight to clinch the title. That is most definitely the way to do it, with a stonking final total of more than 30 squidolios! Twelve winners in the month, the best being 20/1 four days ago. Super stuff mr d!

Of the five promotees only s.kenbo didn't score today, but then he didn't really have to after that terrific 22/1 winner the other day. betme, sitting just outside at the start of play today,  crashed the party at the last gasp with a 9/2 number - second on the bounce - that left him in third place. razmos timed his final run perfectly with nine winners in the last 13 outings, finishing today with an 11/4 killer blow that shot him into fourth - just look at that 50% overall strike rate! And pauli finally made it with the nap of the day, Broxbourne  at a delicious 7/1, but it was touch and go for a while. Very well napped guys. Div 2 should be proud to have you among their number.

But of course for every success story there's a hard luck tale to tell. buffythebookieslayer just missed out in  the evening when betme struck. What a great season SHE's had! Hope I didn't falsely get your hopes up Pre-Fat-Low-Fat-Foods. I could have sworn a week ago you were a cert for promotion. SOULDANCER too, although going off the boil at the end, like Stevie Gerrard with no reward for a terrific six-race winning streak at great prices. Hard luck to you all, but don't be too disconsolate.  As I said, I suspect some of you will be going up anyway when the dust settles.

So there you have it, one of the best months I can recall in the comp.  Well done to you all.

well there's also the Div 2 retirement that isn't - actually think its havin your cake and eating it the way it appears to have been done

but as I said on the div  1 thread, I dont quite see how he can be retired in the table when he's posted a nap that wont be recorded ... seems a bit odd

Thanks for the final update and summary for July Reged.  Very well done to the dealer who is a most worthy Champion of Division 3 with an outstanding total for the month.  Also well done to my fellow promotees kenbo, betme and razmos and also, it seems, buffy.  Thank you all very much for your kind comments and I certainly hope to do better in Division 2 this time around after failing miserably the last time I was promoted.  A big thanks to you Reged for running this great division and for your daily updates and amusing summaries.  Well done with your final day nap and your Great Escape.  I look forward to doing battle with you in Division 2 in August.  Good luck with your napping everyone.
