What an invigorating place this Div 3 is! Duffy found out just how much as he hit the ground running after crashing through the ceiling from Div 2. Arctic Ben  galloped home at a tasty 7/1 to shoot the Duffster straight to the top in his quest to rejoin chums above.

top2rated had a very iffy run last month, but has also started March with a spring in the step, bagging Hazard Warning  at 5/1 to go second. And madhatters, so cruelly denied promotion yesterday by almost the last runner of the day - must have been a bit gut-wrenching mads - is off to a flying start with Al's Memory  at 7/2. Let's hope you make it this time Mr M ... DB will be getting lonely upstairs!

Elsewhere:
Newcomer yeahyeaywhatever immediately put his stamp on proceedings with Brave Spartacus  at 9/4 ...
angeleyz and Pauli both found Phase Shift  at 13/8 ...
KBGJ brings up the rear of the winners with Danziger  at 5/4.

After that I'm afraid it's a sea of minus one. But that's good in a way. At least it means none of you put on a thick woollen coat and backed the Prem Div shorter-than-short shortie of the day, Call Me A Star. Okay it won and delivered a measly few pence. But honestly, on day one of the month? Wouldn't call them stars with that kind of napping. Ahem.

A big welcome to those who have descended from on high - I know, they're a really boring lot up there. Much more fun in Div 3! Some, as the police would say, are already known to us. We missed you guys and are glad to have you back, although you might not quite share the sentiment.

And a big welcome to the newcomers. It's always good to have new blood to hone into fine napsters and send upstairs to show the shortie brigade how it's done. And there's room for plenty more - people can join at any time of the month and will be made very welcome.

Oh, and many thanks for all your kind messages about my new status. Daughter and granddaughter are doing fine and I too have recovered from my celebrations last night!
