towcester 3.25 join the navy 7/1 ladbrokes.........upon refection if a racecourse was designed for a racehorse this would be it.....horse tails itself off.....imagine how well the hill will suite.....b pwell takes over from boxhall...........lto rp report worth bearing in mind.

..The main talking point of the race was the ride given to Join The Navy, who was immediately a long way detached at the back. Jumping ponderously at times, he picked up with three to jump and finished with a flourish for fourth, but the race was all over by then. He scored under similar tactics for Chloe Boxall at Fontwell last time - he was 11lb lower then - but the rider appeared to overdo things here.

The stewards held an inquiry into the running and riding of Join The Navy and interviewed the rider and the trainer. They also received a report from the veterinary officer, who stated the gelding was found to be distressed on post-race examination. The rider stated her instructions were to drop the horse out in rear while remaining closer to the pack than she had on his previous run at Fontwell. Sheadded she was further behind than she wanted to be after jumping the first fence but the gelding was not travelling until he began to stay on from three out. The trainer stated she had instructed the rider to ride the gelding in a similar manner to when winning at Fontwell but added she was disappointed that she had become so far detached after jumping the second. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race the stewards noted their explanations.
