Poor from me today and that KBGJ is useless

Good afternoon all
As you are aware KBGJ has not shown of late, as such I think that its fair to say that he has withdrawn from the competition and we will need to play a wild card to cover his selection. Rather than leave it to the last minute and also being faced by who should be posting, it will be best if we have a rota, that way:Everyone knows who will be playing the wild, everyone will get the chance to make another pick, and it will also allow the wild card to used earlier in the week. I am putting the rota in not particular order apart from the fact that Andrew and Duke were on the thread late this week so should be aware of the plans. Could everyone acknowledge that they have seen this proposal - hopefully everyone is comfortable with this w/e Wild card player 1 June Andrew in Sweden 8 June Duke of Puke 15 June Mr Ferret 22 June Dogdayafternoon 29 June Therobster 6 July Chypmunk 13 July Hoofhearted Finally I will be playing early this week as I will be away for a week or so with little or any internet access so I wont be around on Saturday to keep an eye on things. Regards HH |

Thanks hoof.
The rota is fine, but I don't mind if you put me last, moving Duke up to June 1st etc as I posted for KBGJ last Saturday (I think it's still in the final furlong) ![]() |
|
By:
Thanks Andrew - happy to leave things as they are, we are all going to get a chance to pick in the coming months- initially I just want to allow time for everyone to see the post, and the fact that you have already posted means we are covered for this week and you can pick earlier if need be.
May have to fine tune the dates - there is generally a summer break in the competition, but lets cross that bridge later ![]() Anyway best of luck this week. |
|
By:
yes seen it but lets have a time for when the wildcard has to be played lets say by 3.00pm that gives us an hour to get a pick in.someone my forget to play the wildcard or have a non runner etc
|
|
By:
Well done duke and mr d for your points last week, you managed to get us closer to Dunters in 3rd.
|
|
By:
Yes that's fine duke, to be honest I would be in favour of extending this to all picks not just wild cards - if anyone is intending posting late just drop a note on here to say so as 3.00 only leaves a hours window to the 4.00 deadline, and especially in the winter months (if there's no floodlit a/w racing)there will be very little races to chose from.
Best of luck this week and I echo Andrews comments re last weeks point scorers - I thought I had posted something to this effect but its not here so I am either going senile or the forum was acting up - I would be laying around evens each of two. ![]() |

Congratulations to dogdayafternoon on winning the premiership naps comp, making it a 1-2 for Northern Punts

was going for ocovango as i am on at 22-1 but dawn approach has been picked so i have gone for the same horse that won for me last week
|
|

Well done mr d ferret on your win and place yesterday, a very good start to the week. I've gone for an EW outsider just to bring us back to earth
![]() Duke, your turn for the wildcard. |
|
By:
I'm back, batteries recharged and hopefully pick a winner or two, as I am on a bad roll at the moment, but no doubt we've all been there.
Well done to Chypmunk and Mr Ferret for giving us some points early doors this week for us to build on. Best of luck. |
|
By:
If we get stuck for a wildcard i fancy Gentleman Anshan 7.45 Stratford ew at about 8/1,if not no problem.Good luck team.
|
|
By:
I'm happy with that ^^^^^

Well done to Chypmunk, ferret and hoof for the points. My ew outsider is probably still in the final furlong, I should have used my daily naps selection, it would have added another 23.5 points, but at least we finished ahead of Dunters. Onwards and upwards etc. Good luck to all this week.
|
|
By:
A case of what might have been yesterday, with only around £20 separating 2nd and 6th place, anyway onwards and upwards.
The wild card rota seems to be working, and its Mr Ferret's turn this week. Hopefully all of the team will have seen this thread and in particular the wild card plans and are aware of the "batting order". |

Hi guys, I've popped in here to see who the wildcard may be for, that mr d ferret has posted, and see Andrew has posted a selection here but not the selection thread.
Firstly the wildcard - if it's a just-in-case post then please be aware that 1hr before it's race time I will use it for someone regardless of whether your full team subsequently turn up. Secondly I'll take Andrew's post above as intended selection and copy it over. |
|
By:
and I've just realised you have a long time absentee in KBGJ who the wildcard is obviously for so please forgive my absent-mindedness

Thanks Undecided

It looks like my turn with the wild card,I have put up Disclaimer 5.00 today, just so we can all have a good cry,and will have another crack tomorrow.
|
|
By:
Best of luck everyone tomorrow - dogdayafternoon, the would have been a popular winner if your wildcard selection had gone in today,it wasn't to be but you've got another bite of the cherry tomorrow.
Glad to see that the rota seems to be working ok. |
|
By:
Just posted on the deadline two late wild cards rather than lose picks, hope I haven't trod on anyones toes but it was a last minute thing to beat the 4.00 deadline (literally) and there was no one on our thread so I assumed no-one else noticed/was around.
|
|
By:
good show hoof i am around but didnt expect any no shows now we have a wildcard rota
|
|
By:
Hoof, well done on the points, our only scorer this week.
My own selection Ektihaam may have been unlucky, he was clear when he unshipped Hannigan (although there was still a fair way to go) considering he beat the ill fated winner by 6L last time out. Good luck this week guys. |

By:
Well done Mr Ferret on your early winner of the week, best of luck everyone today.
If anyone is around please keep an eye on the shop this afternoon - unfortunately I wont be around until after the 4.00 deadline. |

By:
i have picked for andrew as his is a non runner i will have to pick for the robster and his w/c only 1/2 hour to go
|
|
By:
Many thanks duke and apologies to all for not re-posting ref my NR yesterday, but i'm in Italy. I can access the forum (not the betting site) so racing is secondary for a while

Well done Mr ferret - hope Chypmunk is aware of the wild card

Well done to dogdayafternoon for the winning points yesterday. I went for an outsider in the John Smiths (still running). I was going to select my daily naps winner (6/4) but I was hoping to go out on a high (fat chance). We had a go and failed miserably, but there's always next time

|
By:
Just to echo Andrews comments above.
Not a vintage year for us, but we avoided the wooden spoon ![]() Thanks for participating, and we managed to get through the season with no fall outs ![]() Hope to see you all again in the New Year assuming a competition is to run |
|
By:
probably be a good idea he shelved the team tipster idea and went for a new format.which he his trialling at the moment.its hard work getting everyone interested to keep posting not just our team but the others have struggled as well.imo the team tipster comp has died a death

i've lost your mobile number hh or i would have texted this, going to Cartmel in a bit, might be worthwhile watching Jimmy Moffats two runners, wouldn't be the first time he's landed a touch up there, cheers the now
