Calling all Humbugs. This year's comp is a bit later than usual but is starting on Feb 3rd which is a week tomorrow.
There are two main changes to the rules Firstly we are going back to having weekly rounds. Secondly there will be no autumn session so the comp will go through to July and then that's it. So there will be more of a sprint feeling to the whole thing this year.
I used to be able to do the c&p thing on my old computer but have never worked out how to do it on my new one tbh so if you want to read the rules yourselves you'll have to refer to undecided's thread.
I won't need to remind most of you that after being champions in 2010 for two years we have just been piped by the pesky Thieves
Revenge will be sweet

Come on. We have 3 days to the start of the comp and we only have half a team. I really don't fancy having to manage 4 wildcards. Our rivals over the last 3 years have completed their round-up and even recruited for a retiring member.

I have a sorce from the other side who is in touch with barny via an ouija board. At the moment he is in the outer isles of Thule with no internet access. He is,like a good Humbug,willing to text in his selections. The difficulty is your captain doesn't do texting. I have a mobile no for him if anyone else who is up to this modern stuff will volunteer.

The only person totally unaccounted for is Deep Impact. I have PM'd him but of course that's no use if he's still on the old forum unlike radical modernists such as Lampus and myself. He does play the big race comp so he might be around tomorrow with a bit of luck. I'm sure we can work something out with barny.

I like this comp salmon, I cant get me head round the new rules in the league comp I'm afraid, Rule 8 bugs me, I didn't bother posting for first 2 days of Feb and i looked to find i was joint second cos both LRF had won!!!

I'm haven't got hold of barny. I have a mobile no for him ( kindly provided by a source from the dark side )and have rung him. I got his voicemail and have left him my number,but he hasn't yet got back to me. I suppose I'd better do the wildcard if necessary because he might get back to me on or before Sat. I'll try again next week but there is a limit to what I am prepared to do. If we don't get anywhere by a week on Sat I think we will have to consider the situation.
If anybody else wants to have a try ( perhaps somebody who does texting which I don't ) I can PM you his number. |
