When: 15 Jun 13 12:20
no Dessie, didn't really fancy anything much else and only bet I've had is on Brae Hill in the 2.40, which to me would just seem wrong to have a reserve that had already run(won!) before my selection runs ???? It will run anyways tbh Laugh

When: 15 Jun 13 19:23
sorry guys about the nonner.....WD winners btw!. Like I stated earlier I don't feel comfortable with putting up a reserve that runs before my selection should run. Due to my commitments and although I really enjoy the craic I think it might be sensible if you can find a replacement for me. More than happy to continue until you find a replacement or whatever you think is best.

lets keep it going guys Wink

Royal Ascot week always a difficult one

On Reserves dont have any problems with your principles Harleelin
Annoyed with myself for not posting one up
Rules dont really exist yet so, it is still to be sorted out
Dont want to lose you Harleelin (esp over a rare event) you have been invaluable
only 4 weeks to go & it maybe Jan before next comp
plenty of time for thought & change
very difficult time for you NH lads limited opportunities
esp those with families & other priorities to fit in

Only 4 weeks of the season to go lets see if we can maintain our new levels HappyHappyHappy

Well good morning guys!! Another fine win, brilliant scorers!! The thieves have their mojo back Wink

Harleelin......if theres an edge to be taken in the competition, you take it imo. I am only speaking from experience having been in the comp since day 1, and quite frankly, we've seen whole meetings called off on Saturday evening and several selections lost because of it. If we use our heads we get that edge which one day will pay a dividend. If we don't use our heads, then one day it will cost us. Thankfully it didnt yesterday, but surely you appreciate the common sense of putting up your second best in that situation, whether it runs before your selection or not? Its also wise not to pick your second best at the same evening meeting for the reason above, whole meetings have been called off.

No ones hurt by what happened yesterday, its not a big deal and no one wants you to leave.

Whatever you decide to do the next time the situation arises is your call. But seeing a second best run and win in the afternoon and then your selection being called a NR later on must be a fantastic feeling!!!Wink

Well done team
i see your point Harllelin it would be hard to see your reserve winning before your selection actually runs.
A re-think on rules may be the answer.
By:
Oshun Fynanse
When: 16 Jun 13 11:42
I don't think we want to lose anyone from this team. How about whoever has the wildcard puts up the reserve at an evening meeting. Most occasions it won't be needed but at least its there.
By:
Oshun Fynanse
When: 16 Jun 13 11:46
Actually I can see a few flaws in thatConfused

OK we ONLY have 4 weeks to retain our Title ShockedShocked
& mathematically it can still be done so lets keep that target in focus
If you have a late selection on Saturday & want to nominate a reserve feel free to do so
I think it should be after the race in question

Its unlikely as there are only 4 weeks left BUT if a race qualifies for a reserve and one is not nominated I will nominate one ShockedBlush
The sad news for Harleelin/Petemac is there only about 3 NH cards a week for the next 4 weeks
and none of them are on a saturday Sad

If you are happy with that smile HappyGrinSillyLove

Sweet news for AW & NH lads

You work and work for years and years, you're always on the go
You never take a minute off, too busy makin' dough
Someday you say, you'll have your fun, when you're a millionaire
Imagine all the fun you'll have in your old rockin' chair

Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think
Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink
The years go by, as quickly as a wink
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think

Jeremy Paxman once described Burns as the King of sentimental Doggerel he knew **** all as well and next time please knock before you come in as we are only fussy who we let in here.
It would have been a nice gesture to say well done lads on your second win in 2 weeks (it's still not too late)Tongue Out
