Wolverhampton 14.00 State Senator 20-1 generally

Having gone through a few races on Wolverhampton’s bumper card, I can’t help thinking there may be a few surprise results, this horse being accountable for one of them. Having been bought out of Mark Prescott stable for a hurdling campaign by Nicky Henderson he never did a jot, and has washed up into the Lancashire stable of Richard Ford. The stable have had a couple at huge odds run “well” without troubling the judge today and yesterday, especially given the way both of those big priced horses were ridden and ran (worth a look at the footage, one raced wide throughout the other left lengths at the start both drawn widest in each contets). Having blow the cobwebs off in an amateur class 5 affair recently, State Senator could now be very interesting on the strength he was not asked for anything serious during that contest, shaping like he needed it. He now steps up in trip / down in grade (Cl 6), and the assessor has also relented to the tune of 4lbs to aid his very much outside cause.  In truth is a race that would not take a great deal of winning, and is an interesting contender as any @ his double figured odds of 20-1 running off 58 tomorrow.
