There'll be fireworks tonight, but there weren't any in Div 2 today. Just the 3 winners, which is par for the course on the final day as everyone looks for those elusive big-priced winners.
Top Gnu on the final day was the pretender who scored with a 4/1 shot at Lingfield.
* * * * * * CONGRATULATIONS TO LA MALLATIERRE, DIVISION 2 CHAMPIGNON FOR DECEMBER 2012 * * * * * *
He just managed to sneak to the front on the final day with a 15/8 winner. la mal's victory was achieved with 14 winners @ 4/1, 4/7, 4/11, 2/1, 4/6, 10/11, 11/4, 15/2, 1/5, 5/4, 4/5, 4/9, 1/6 and 15/8.
Only 5 of those winners were odds against which is remarkable in itself. And only 1 of those 5 was over 5/1. A powerful argument for keeping things the way they are as far as odds-on selections are concerned. They have their uses as la mallatierre has skillfully demonstrated to us all. Very well done to you and the best of luck in Division 1.
There were no changes in the other 4 names on the podium today despite some brave efforts from the chasing pack. The biggest disappointment must be madhatter who valiantly kicked off the month with 6 winners in a row and notched up a total of over £18. But only two more lowly priced winners since then have seen him slip away and out of contention. Bad luck sir.
