We have a new leader, who hit the top with an exceptionally appropriate name in the circumstances, Hint Of Promise.  The 11/10 learning thegame got was enough to leapfrog the struggling History Maker into first. That's LTG's fourth straight winner and 13th for the month out of 19 selections. They might not have been blockbusters, although a couple were 3/1 and above, but the sheer consistency has to be admired. VWD that man, who deservedly sits atop the division.

A slight tale of woe just below as petemac also leapfrogged yesterday's man to take second. Pete chose a Dylanesque theme to follow his Elvis-inspired winner of the day before. After treating us to the lyrics of Like A Rolling Stone he decided he wouldn't actually pick Likearollingstone  and went for Changing Times  instead. The latter won at just 4/6. The other nag came home at 8/1 and it would have been pete at the top of the table instead! I gather his bet on Man City went none too well either!

Out top napster, though, was down the other end where Monte Christo finally wrenched himself off the floor with Pickworth  at 3/1. Up five places still means the pit of despair, but not quite so despairing.

Okay, now hands up who backed Ertikaan  at 7/4? Three in fact: zipper, who gained nothing but dosh from the enterprise, and Weaver Fish and swift-tuttle, who both rose four places. In between Tightfisted ended a wait of nine days to show the winning side of his character by getting 11/8 on Mister Hyde.

Good luck Friday chaps. Hey pete, got a beauty for you mate. Bit of Neil Diamond this time - Song Sung Blue in the 2.40 at Ascot! Most appropriate!

khyber kim: it made no difference in  the end but you fell foul of the 1-hour rule with your instruction. Sommat to watch out for.
