Thanks for the final table for October momm. Congratulations to Ashmal on winning the Division 2 Championship and promotion to Division 1. Also well done to the other promotees WeeJimmyMcTavish, de44ek4, Cloughie1 and pedro39. Good luck to you all in Division 1. I'm afraid it's back to Division 3 for yours truly following a shocking performance in October. I've enjoyed my brief spell in Division 2 and hope to be back soon. Thank you momm for all your efforts and hard work organising and running Division 2 and for producing the daily tables. I know that October has been a very difficult time for you as you continue your search for Cleo. I hope that you find her soon momm and that you enjoy a happier November. I wish everyone in Division 2 the best of luck in November.

* * * * * CONGRATULATIONS TO ASHMAL, DIVISION 2 CHAMPIGNON FOR OCTOBER * * * * *
Ashmal clinched the title by just 19p with winners at 6/4, 2/1, 85/40, 13/8, 4/11, 16/1, 6/4, 1/5 and 8/11. Remarkable really that you can win the title with 8 out of the 9 winners being quite unremarkable prices, spread between 1/5 and 85/40. But it was that canny 16/1 winner a week ago which made all the difference. Excellent tactics and very well done for bouncing right back to Div 1.
WeeJimmyMcTavish is probably wondering where it all went wrong as far as winning the title goes. He took the lead on Day 9 with a 16/1 shot and was in front by a margin of £14.55 by Day 13. But the winners dried up after that, with just one odds-on winner out of the next 16 selections. But he'll be content with also bouncing straight back to Div 1.
In 3rd place, de44ek4 headed straight for the drop-zone during the first week, but then spent all bar a couple of days on the podium for the rest of month with only 4 winners - 10, 6, 5 and 10/1. That's all it takes to win promotion. Easy peasy. He also bounces straight back to Div 1.
Cloughie1 - 13 winners, never in the red, and a total of 20 days spent in the Top 5. He'll be delighted to be returning to Div 1 at only the second attempt to get back there.
pedro39 - 29 out of 31 days in the Top 5, most of them in either 1st or 2nd place. But a plethora of 2nds and only one winner at odds-on in the second half of the month saw him drop to 5th and had us all wondering whether or not he'd be able to hang on and gain that elusive promotion after spending 11 months in Div 2. Well done on your escape at last. I'm delighted for you.

So those are our 5 promotees this month. Congratulations to all of you. It was a tough month with winners hard to come by.
Quite a few of you had a final day fling in an attempt to catch a whopper. elvissss 9/1, Grok 9/1 and Aquarius 16/1 came closest to upsetting the apple-cart and achieving promotion. All placed 2nd. Very unlucky.
As it was, grey shark was the only one who nearly managed it. His 6/1 winner left him just £1.27 short of promotion. No doubt it was a much bigger price when he selected it but it shrank in the wash.
It's been a bit of a struggle down at the other end with no real battle being fought.
scissors managed to escape on the final day but he may have been somewhat fortunate that lagmorian failed to post a selection. We'll never know.
