*** DIVISION 3 FINAL TABLE - SEPTEMBER ***

Thanks for the final update for September Reged.  Congratulations to NEC a very worthy Champion of Division 3 and a formidable opponent.  Also well done to my fellow promotees MOB, lagmorian and mini me.  I look forward to renewing rivalry with you all in October.  Thanks to you Reged for all your hard work in organising and running Division 3 and for your daily updates and amusing summaries.  The nature of napping horses being what it is I have no doubt that I will be brought down to earth with an almighty bump and will probably be back in Division 3 before you can say "lay of the day".  Good luck to you all for October.

When you reach for the stars you must expect to fall  into the odd black hole. But what science has failed to warn us about are the equally awful grey holes out there. And boy did we end up in a big grey hole today. As grey a table as it is possible to get: it would have been easier getting to the moon today than getting just one nag to come home first. Hey, it's a Sunday, it's the last day of the comp, so lots of napsters going for big prices in the hope of that miracle blast-off.

So let us celebrate the elevation of the latest five to "greater things" (even though this is the best division in the comp as we all know). And let us offer huge congratulations first to N-east Correspondent, who popped up out of the blue at the start of the month with a stonking 20/1 winner and never looked back. He tried to fob us off with tales of beginner's luck, but we knew better and his final-week tussle with pauli for the championship was one of the keenest we have witnessed for a while, for which both players deserve huge credit. You can tell from today's results how close it was, with both coming as close as you can get to a winner.

And MOB, lagmorian and mini me held on grimly to their transportation spots, mm bouncing straight back after relegation last month. Well done to all you guys and may you prosper among the "toffs" as other 'old boys' have done. It is always with mixed feelings that I see you go: glad you have done so well, sad to see you leaving.

And hard luck to those that didn't make it, who nevertheless contributed to an entertaining month, if not quite so profitable overall this time. I wonder if LordyLordy now regrets today's nap, which he proclaimed would be his last in this division? I can't help feeling if he had been a tad less ambitious he might well have nicked a promotion  spot - but maybe he secretly wants to stay! bluenose7 just  missed out again, hit at a crucuial juncture by his internet crisis in the final week.

Hard luck stories abound, most of them down in the nether regions about which I am almost daily unkind! ged and Trusty suffered a totally blank month to carry the wooden spoon pretty much jointly (ged get's the handle). So what. I enjoyed your company and hope you had some fun and carry on regardless: if so, let's hope your luck turns in October.
