DIVISION 3 THURSDAY Aug 16

Can't complain too much about the lack of winners today, what with the weather putting paid to Ireland and causing so many non-runners this side of the water. In fact only Div 2 was able to match our four winners (instructions excepted). There were only three in Div 1 and the Premier toffs? Zilch!

So well done to those who did manage to score today, led by the intrepid zipper who staked Claim for 3/1. The rise of seven places might be small compensation for falling in the lay comp today in sight of victory.

All the leaders drew a blank so lagmorian was able to sneak two places closer after a fishing trip on Scottish Lake, a handy 5/2 earner. Clearly adamant he would refuse any longer to be "nudged" down the table, pauli came up with the 6/4 Intransigent also to rise two places. And KBGJ might only have had odds-on success, but it was enough to lift him five places north of the black hole.

Let's hope for better conditions tomorrow.  Good luck all!
