What a glorious day at Glorious Goodwood. The first four races all produced winners, none more spectacular than the opener, with china castle napping the 22/1 Johannes to become the undoubted king of the Div 3 castle! He shot a full 16 places to the summit - a bit like raspberybottom last month, clearly determined to escape us plebs and return to higher things. Terrific nap china - drinks are on you!

The good times kept rolling along. Next race, Motivado brought pension fund an 11/2 reward and a rise of 11 places to just below the promo zone - another fallen from grace seemingly intent on making his stay in purgatory as short as possible. Race three and another winner,  with the rather apposite name of The Fugue, returning 11/4 for bluenose7 and dukeofpuke, by coincidence (one assumes) sitting side by side in the table. They still are, only five places higher.

Surely that was enough. Three Brit golds in the Olympic stadium was amazing enough, but four well-priced winners on the trot at Goodwood from the honest toilers of Div 3?  Yup. Not to be outdone, top2rated brought his golden pin down on Hawkeyethenoo to leapfrog 15 places into second spot.

There were also rewards for khyber kim, moving up seven places with the 7/2 winner Just Charlie, and miscreant man, finding the 2/1 Bowdler's Magic.

In the oddds-on department, Ziggiesbarsbust made it four from four with the 1/4 Dundonnell, which also brought a 25p profit for MOB. Unfortunately 25p doesn't get you very far in life these days, and Zigs dropped a place, hammered by the outsider riders. Long way to go though and this could turn into an interesting hare/tortoise tussle. Anyway, a huge well done to our winners.

There were six instructions used Saturday, none of which won. It was bad luck for that holidaying family duo of shanelee1966 and Nijinsky. For the second day running the favourite won in the last race, which was their instruction. Unfortunately on both days it was the wrong favourite - when there's joint favourites it's the lowest card number that is taken - theirs was the highest both times. Life's a bitch etc ...
