Unfortunately, Yes.

The onus is on players to check that their selection is still a declared runner at the time of posting.
sing when ur winning was obviously unaware that Varnish had been taken out of the market over an hour before he posted it, but in fairness to others it has to be disallowed.

Reged, there's nothing in the Rules which specifically covers it, but it's always seemed common sense to me that every selection must be for a horse which is still actually on the card at the time of posting, although I do allow a certain degree of latitude with the timings.

That's why I always try to post that a meeting has been abandoned, and I try to find out what time it was announced and when Betfair removed the market. I usually make it clear that no more selections for that meeting will be accepted but that any made before the meeting was abandoned will stand as non-runners (or they can choose again).

I've only ever had to disallow three posts: two non-runners and one abandoned meeting (the post was over six hrs after it was called off and the player resigned over it!).

So it's not something which anyone ever does deliberately just to save a point. I've done it myself myself once or twice and fully realise how easily it can happen. But at the same time promotion and relegation can often be very close with just a few pennies making the difference, so I like to make to sure that it's fair for everyone. That's all. I daresay one or two may occasionally slip through the net but it's not exactly a daily occurrence. It's not even a monthly one.

No I fully understand the logic MoMM, just it had never really struck me before. I'm very grateful for you taking the time to explain it to me.
