Retirements
I thought I should clarify the retirement policy (which is generous, although there's no pension!).
Napsters are allowed 12 consecutive no-shows. These will be continuous from month to month, ie not 'reset' to zero at the start of a new month. After the 12th day they will be retired if they do not post the following day. For this purpose, any day when instructions are used will be counted if they fall within the period.
This will be disregarded if I am informed in advance of any intended holiday, when the normal holiday rules will apply and the no-show days will be ignored for retirement purposes. To remind you, the holiday rules are:
8. Instructions to cover holiday / day can't post will be allowed but under the following STRICT guidelines :
- The dates for which instructions are to be used must be clearly stated (Sundays will not have instructions applied unless EXPLICITLY stated otherwise).
- Instructions will be applied to UK races only UNLESS explicitly stated otherwise.
- Only 10 days on instructions which do not name horses (i.e last fav , Spotform's nap etc) will be allowed each month. Once that has been exceeded one point per day will be deducted.
- Horses selected from the five day entries will be allowed. If they do not run they will be treated under the non runners rule and will not count towards the 10 day instruction maximum.
- In the case of more than one favourite in a race Instructions will be settled on the favourite with lowest race-card number.
It would be appreciated if someone who no longer wants to take part would let me know instead of simply not posting any more. It would save me a little admin time.

A glitch seems to have developed in my tables so, until I can root out the cause, I've done a bit of manual fixing of the positions, but some of the 'CHG' figures are a bit askew. If you spot any other errors be sure to shout!
Anyway, top marks today to that incomparable gentleman madhatter and the doughty Tightfisted for getting the nap of the day, the 7/2 Dr Red Eye, which is a complaint I know all too well after recent interludes!
Unfortunately it wasn't quite enough to lift madhatter to the top, but he is beginning to build a nice head of steam, while Tightfisted lifted himself nicely off the bottom to be in touch with the leadeers at this early stage. Nice one gents.

Into some lives floods of rain must fall!

I think we should clear up my odds-on view. I have no problem with selections that are 4/5, 8/11 or even 1/2 but people putting up 1/5 shots etc just to save their point is just gamesmanship.

I have said before on here.....being in the Premiership is an irrelevance.....all that matters is the yearly profit/loss figure and the only worthwhile aim is being crowned the yearly naps champ and the rolling yearly naps champ (neither of which I have yet managed! 
).
To this end the more people that pick odds on shots every day the better because they will never, ever attain that position (ask Alan Keyte).
