DIVISION 3 FINAL TABLE FOR JUNE 2012

**************  A BIG WELL DONE TO MONTE CHRISTO, DIVISION 2 CHAMPION, JUNE 2012 **************

And well done to the other three who join Monte and myself in the giddy heights of Division 2 next month.

CHAMPION
Monte Christo

Also promoted

pension fund

I don't know if many of you caught the little running commentary yesterday but that was quite an exciting finish. And how appropriate that the top three were also final-day winners - the only ones apart from zipper. I almost joined them, but Kimbali didn't quite have enough gas in the tank.

Biggest winner of the day was pension fund, with a right royal 14/1 winner that rocketed him seven places up the table. Splendid effort pf; what a super way to end the month.

But there was plenty of drama beforehand, first off with the big 3.20 race at Newcastle in which seven napsters bravely threw caution to the wind and plumped for big-priced horses. Sadly (for them) the favourite romped home without too much ado. But full marks for trying to make one last glorious leap into the promotion zone. That's sport!

Just 15 minutes later Monte Christo sealed his imperious leadership of the division with a neat 100/30 job at Newmarket. His £29.95 total is the second highest in all four divisions (have you seen the Premier Div? Top tipster came in at £5.21, which wouldn't even have got him promotion if he was with the Div 3 elite!). Anyway, huge congratulations on a stellar performance Monte.

But the drama was not quite ended. pension fund's big number had landed him second position in the table. We then had to wait for the result of the 7.00 from Curragh to see if he would stay there. No such luck because elvisss managed to find another nice little number, the curiously-named Definightly, which survived a stewards inquiry to win at 13/8 - enough to push him into second.

It has to be said that seconds might have stood a better chance of promotion if he hadn't been so timid. In the end the 11/8 favourite Exning Halt didn't even place, but had it won it still wouldn't have been enough to get him over the line. Perhaps the biggest loser was Earth to To Mickey, sitting in fifth at the start of the day but just bumped out by pension fund's huge leap. Hard luck ETM, better luck in July.

And a final word for Virgin. Who cares if you haven't found a winner in more than 70 attemnpts? One of these days that big winner, like yesterday's monumental 150/1 effort, will romp home, making the rest of us green with envy! Mmmmm, okay, maybe not but I hope it's been fun.

And so, as five of our number depart, we welcome from Div 2

The fifth person fron D2 was Lucky Blue, who had already retired. We welcome you and hope your spell with us gives you fresh energy to head for the heights again.

And so I leave you but I don't. I'm off to tasate the delights of Div 2, but will still be settling this division. And I can say it has been an extreme pleasure and I am very grateful to you all for your help and friendliness. The very best of luck to you all for July.

**** - should read DIVISION 3 in the headline It's been a long night! Sorry!

Mind you, the way he's tipping, MoMM should keep that headline handy for the end of the coming month!

I think that ought to read properly so here it is again:
