Three days to go and the knives are out at the top of the division. But it's the little nicks and cuts that are doing the damage rather than great slices that take everyone's heads off. All but one of the top five scored (and even the off man out, seconds, lost out on a win by just a head).

Leader of the pack Monte Christo took the honours, with a runner sounding like something out of The Godfather bringing a 3/1 return. The chasing four, falling just that little bit further behind, swapped places but clung grimly to their promotion spots.

There were small victories too for those clustered on the fringes of promotion, but I can't help thinking it would be best for them  now to chance their arms with more ambitiously-priced horses. It's surely do or die!

It's pretty quiet down in the zone of gloom - have you all given up? Well, not madhatter, who found that not all that is Greek is tragic to lift himself three places. C'mon guys, get those sabres out and show us what you're made of!
