it was a shame undecided hasnt got some American blood inside him otherwise he would have added - World Series to the title of the comp could have claimed to have beeen World Champs last year  I saw some alternative events for the Olympics made me laugh have to try & dig them out |

I have examined our best chances of the Team winning a gold checked out eight man events, so rowing it is  I have eight Steve Redgraves around me who have tasted success thirsty for more My Personal Plan my suggestions would be I take the Adrian Ellison approach to winning Gold he was the key guy in Steve Redgraves 1984 first win and without him who knows where they would have finished A lot like Adrian I shall be sat at the back pulling a few strings pointing us in the right direction minimising the clashing of blades with other teams watching the stroke patterns trying not to rock the boat too much shouting out words of encouragement (even when we are in front) and I will be the last to finish Sounds like I may even be over qualified for the job  My hardest task is to loose about 5 stone in weight to get into that pointy bit on the plus side I do have a baseball cap to keep the sun out of my eyes good news is all that extra calorie loading for you guys will come in handy I am sure you will all have great pleasure in dunking me whether it comes off or not As usual any other alternatives always welcome |

Is it time for BHA to get Consultants for Change back in
After seeing some stats andracing at the weekend I would like BHA to run a quick survey regarding two riding offenses 1, The jockey trying too hard 2, The jockey NOT trying hard enough (if at all) Which offense is more annoying ? Which offense should carry the bigger ban ? Which offense do you see more often in watching one afternoons card ? and then a really tough question For the week 9-15th Jan (given that there were 21 meetings) In your opinion how many jockeys would you have liked to have seen receiving riding bans for NOT trying hard enough ? any opinions under 5, >5 >10 >15 >20 There were actually 12 found trying too hard !!! 10 of the 12 rode winners ! my estimate / answer of not trying hard enough would have been >20 1 per meeting actual number ZERO cleanest racing in the world - Thats VERY reassuring for the year ahead |

surviving but on the up would be as strong as I dare put it nice to see your 'members' have been having a very good new year only wish I had been sharing in some of that glory congratulations to all hope you are just warming up for the napping season ahead Agreed HKF just a shame its only the jock that gets fined I am sure the connections concerned were more than happy with the rides & should share the fines in some way if a horse 'wins' it should be banned from running or sale for 2 months or maybe 3 that would help spread the ban & ease the pain of the seconds connections it would minimise the gain aspect For betting purposes & prize money purposes ALL winners should be treat as Dead Heats that would make people happier QED I will drop a line to Mr Brittar |

comments on Dead Heat should be declared if winner breaks the rules 'while the neatness and attractiveness of such a plan exists in theory I strongly doubt that it could withstand scrutiny when implemented across the board' comments on why were no non triers listed in the week in question 'Your point ......is well made. I can assure that there is a robust monitoring system in place for all races,......... but in order that enquiries can proceed ................ not all concerns are aired' ( I assume they mean publicly) 'it is accepted more information could be shared on racedays and from racedays.' Jockeys riding ban reviews is accepted as work in progress at least it was a reasonable & considered response which is a lot more than some you get from some authorities maybe we will see a few changes yet on all fronts - just dont bet on it |

Well after a 2 month long break trying to get back into the swing
So Todays Cobweb thinking 14.00 too hard too many well hcpd 14.30 too cight maybe MM 15.00 some improvers but Levitate looks too big @ 25-1 15.35 more improvers but Cashelgar looks thrown in, but loyalty puts me on Laylines back my nap Wolv 14.05 Can see Gala Spirit & Misere sprinting clear for home 3f out where will JPS be sat with Kyncraighie at that moment IF only I knew 14.40 Pats Legacy won first time out last year but shorter this stable hot , but so is Botti L.Garcon looks too big @ 16-1 15.45 As everybody is thumping good thing Face Value It maybe Thundering Home offers something of a price e.w. I suspect need a few weeks to get upto speed ............. |

Im sure the NH will be back soon to get you leaping (sorry to say you will only get one pick all week at Chelts) but as a part time sandman man - yes its a bit like snail racing to watch but I am operating at a slower pacer so I hadnt really noticed plus its a smaller group to follow and theres always six winners a day btw Im an owner in the local snail racing league, took the shell off one of my mine last week to streamline him, didnt work hes more sluggish than ever now that ones for the kids |
