I wasn't planning on running the betting competition this month. It was a one-off, just for December. The In-Running prices that I'm posting are purely for interest's sake.
Having said that, there's no reason why a few bets can't be struck just for a bit of fun if anyone wants to.
By all means go ahead.

The Title SP prices are what was available prior to the off on Jan 1st and are based purely on last month's finishing totals, for the sake of simplicity. Those prices are no longer available obviously now we're off and running. The In-Running prices are the only ones you can have now. I suspect that your use of the phrase 'decent odds' means you want the SP prices. Wishful thinking!

So, there are no rules this month other than a starting bank of, shall we say 1,000?
Bet as much as you like on whoever you like whenever you like.
Title betting only for the moment. If someone looks like they're running away with it, we'll switch to Top 5 betting to keep it competitive.

Bit of an overreaction there Whippin?

We all know how easy it is to post a selection that's already been declared a non-runner, because we've all done it. We go though the cards and make our picks and very often don't post one of them up as the day's selection until much later. Nine times out of ten we don't bother to read the rest of the thread and we don't bother to check to see if it's still running. Like I said, we've all done it.

But the onus HAS to be on the player to make sure it's still a runner at the time of posting, and in fairness to other players it has to be declared an Invalid Selection if it's already been withdrawn or if the meeting's been called off. A degree of latitude is always allowed (at the settler's discretion) simply because we all know how easily it can happen, and because we know that people play in the right spirit and wouldn't do it deliberately just to save a pound. What would be the point? But as I said, in fairness to other players, there's no way a selection posted nearly 4 hours after a meeting has been abandoned can be allowed to stand. Especially as I'd already posted an announcement about it. It would be unreasonable to expect otherwise, however annoying it may be after you've done the work.

So please have a large glass of scotch and a rethink. I don't like to see anyone leave unneccessarily.
This is after all just a bit of fun, but there have to be rules or it would be open to abuse from unscrupulous players.

Not that I think we've got any!
