Table up later.

It`s the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham.

Mon Parrain will face 19 rivals when he bids to justify favouritism in the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham on Saturday.

The Paul Nicholls-trained five-year-old was beaten by Always Waining on only his second start in England but he is highly-thought of given his record in France.

As well as Mon Parrain, Nicholls has declared Poquelin and Aerial, with the former's inclusion meaning the weights will not rise. As a result eight horses, including Aerial, will have t race from out of the handicap.

Noble Prince had been a leading fancy for the handicap with the bookies but he has not been declared with trainer Paul Nolan electing to run his charge in the Fortria Chase at Navan on Sunday.

Philip Hobbs, however, has confirmed Wishfull Thinking for the race, while Dave's Dream and Quantitativeeasing will both take their chance for Nicky Henderson.

Noble Prince may have been withdrawn but Henry de Bromhead's Loosen My Load and the Tom Taaffe-trained Finger Onthe Pulse will both make the trip from Ireland.

Swincombe Rock and Billie Magern will bid to provide Nigel Twiston-Davies his second successive win in the race following Little Josh's victory 12 months ago.

Oiseau de Nuit and Great Endeavour represent Colin Tizzard and David Pipe respectively with Holmwood Legend, The Giant Bolster, Calgary Bay, Araldur, Noble Alan, Tullamore Dew, Divers and Fine Parchment completing the entries

My e/w fancy:

Araldur can make up for lost time by giving Alan King an overdue first Paddy Power Gold Cup success on Saturday.

The Marlborough trainer went agonisingly close to landing the prize in 2007, when Il Duce was beaten a neck by L'Antartique.

King's latest Paddy Power Gold Cup hopeful is potentially different class to Il Duce - but is still just 1lb higher in the handicap for this Cheltenham test than King's 2007 runner-up was.

It's not often you get a chance to back a horse with Araldur's profile at 33-1 for such a prestigious race, but he seems to have slipped under the bookies' radar.

The reasons for this are probably twofold. There is great excitement at the top of the market about Paul Nicholls' ex-French recruit Mon Parrain, and exciting second-season novices Wishfull Thinking and Noble Prince.

And Araldur has become a forgotten horse - at least where fences are concerned.

Three years ago, aged four, he was a hugely promising novice chaser, having beaten smart types at Warwick and Sandown. But he went wrong on his next outing, Cheltenham Festival plans were scrapped and then he missed the following season through injury.

King could have put him straight back over fences last season but opted to nurse his confidence by running him over hurdles, and was rewarded with two wins and three seconds from five starts.

Nine days ago at Wetherby the ex-French gelding had his first run over fences for two years and nine months - and shaped with plenty of promise to finish second to the useful Fistral Beach, despite being badly hampered by a faller at the second-last.

King said: "I was delighted with that run, especially as it was his seasonal reappearance and like most of my horses he needed it quite badly.

"The dry weather has put us behind schedule and we've only just started working them on grass, compared to October 6 last year.

"Araldur is the biggest horse in the yard, so that run is sure to have tightened him up a lot. We've always thought he was a very exciting prospect and now he's grown and matured, he's ready for a big handicap like this. The trip is ideal and he won't mind if it keeps raining as he's got winning form on good and soft ground."

Last season's star novices have been hit accordingly by the handicapper, but Araldur remains unexposed near the foot of the weights and can justify King's decision to rely on him rather than last week's Haldon Gold Cup winner Medermit, who would have been a leading fancy.

hong kong fooey got a taste of success in September and looks like giving it another go this month.
Cracking winner hkf, great call.

josh monk, alist5, Draw1 & DubaiPrince all improved their positions. Well done all winners.

Just noticed grendel went for it today, bsp 175, in-play low of 2.86, that would have put you clear.

The bottom two have yet to open their account this month, can`t see either having to wait much longer.

A tiny profit was returned, monthly total now stands at -£1.31

Good luck Saturday.
