Ryan, I wanted to pick your brains a little about selecting on jumps instead of flat racing. As you can probably tell we seem to go on similar studies ie handicap, course, jockey/trainer combo ect (anything which looks like its an advantage in comparison to the odds given). Is there an underlying strategy to your selections in jumps as I'm def not as good on them (proved not that good on flats although 2 big winners a month puts me in the green lol). It seems you go for handicaps more like me also as thats easily where you find value is it not?

should of  been braver yesterday ,my nap won but could of had a 16-1 winning one, boo ,cativo ,a horse i put up a while ago on the thread. got put off because someone put up prince of thebes in a positive manner,silly me lol

Sorry UFTR only just saw your post.

I go for novice hurdles just as much as handicaps to be honest.

As for my strategy in handicaps, I'm a big follower of lifetime winning Official Rating. I prefer backing horses that are below their highest winning mark, and it doesn't really bother me if they are way out of form as how else are they supposed to get their mark down.

With rubbish prize money, and us being in the middle of a recession, the best way of making money is from connections landing gambles, winning the race is just a bonus! That's why I'm always trying to look out for the plots.

Just watch replays of the racing too, and look out for horses who travelled well for a long way then faded. Could mean they need shorter or they just aren't fit.

Hope this helps in some way.
