As I once again failed to pick my own horse for the team and it winning! I have gone for one today.

Also on far more different matters, my other half has just started doing a blog. She has chronic myeloid leukeamia and with a rare bone marrow mutation the only hope is a bone marrow transplant. If anyone can spare a moment to have a look whether it be once, now and again, or a comment here and there, it would be greatly appreciated. It provides her with some sense of support through what has been and will be a very trying journey. I trust Betfair wont object. wwwdizzylizzy.blogspot.com

So sorry and saddened to read the news about Lauren, puts life in perspective very quickly. I have read her blog and also been on the donate Blood/bone marrow site to find out more about it, I think alot of people like myself are totally unaware of donor problem untill someone near to them is affected. I would still like a bit more info on whether a like or near match can be from anyone ? do they inform the donor what type they are. I did try to post on the blog but not sure how to.
I hope one of the other two possibles work out and she is able to go ahead with the operation in the near future
Best wishes

Now I am going to show my lack of knowledge too! For about the last 10 months I have had so much on my mind that bizarrely, I myself am quite ignorant about a lot of it. Because its a 24 7 issue for me, rarely do I get to pause and look at causes reasons explanations understandings and so on. Its more of having to deal constantly with the issues that present themselves on a daily basis.
For instance this week, Monday evening, drive from Newmarket to Leeds to take her to hospital. She has to stay in, I have to stay in a hotel. Tuesday look at a property to rent near Leeds so that she has a base for after the transplant that is near hospital and her family, at which time I will have to split my time between Newmarket and up there. Then visit her in hospital before driving home. Wednesday drive to Doncaster to watch Prohibit, then to hospital to pick her and her Mother up from the transplant meeting, drop her Mother off before having to drive back to Newmarket.
Today the car had a day off woop! And I have actually tried to do some work!

I think Lauren has just changed the settings on the blog so anyone can now leave comments without having to sign up to google mail. You just have to pick one of the two bottom options when it says select profile. I think! She is much more knowledgable on all the ins and outs of the donor process. If you could try again to post on it, that would be great. If not, are you on facebook or owt like that?

In general terms she can see the number of people viewing on each day so obviously the more people she sees taking an interest the more it helps morale, so anyone whether they look once, now and again, or regularly is much appreciated, and obviously any supportive comments or questions are great too.
