Caught my eye: Paddy P0wer( Sat)
Hurricane Run 10 Nov 15:08 Paul Nicholls will assess weather conditions before committing all three of his Paddy Power Gold Cup entries to the race. The champion trainer still intends to saddle Chapoturgeon, winner of last season's Jewson Novices' Handicap Chase, dual course winner Poquelin and Tatenen. However, if heavy rain hits Cheltenham Nicholls could be forced into changing his plans. "The plan is for all three to run in the Paddy Power, but we'll see what the weather does during week and that could change things," said Nicholls. "We'll make a decision later in the week. Obviously Poquelin would not want it too soft, while Tatenen does want it soft. "Until Poquelin won the other day, I hadn't even thought of the Paddy Power - it was only the way he won that brought it into our minds. "Tatenen will only run if it's soft, while the plan was always for Chapoturgeon to go there first time out. "We'll look at the weather, but Ruby will ride Poquelin Given the forecast i reckon it'll be too fast for Tat, too slow for Poq and Goldilocks (just purfect) for Chapo. |

More of a form man than a stats man Platinni, so went for it in the Big Race Comp. See youv'e gone for Old Vic in that comp, would be a cert if it could recapture, but age off-putting, anyhow good luck, you are a past winner.

TGO, I don't keep track of individual stats, I do keep all results in my spreadsheet which you are welcome to, but there are instances where wildcards are used and that complicates things a bit.

This year's comp ends 28 Nov, I have put up a thread about next year, please have a look.
I hope you will want to carry on playing but please let your team know if you don't wish to continue next year so that we can find replacements in the meantime. |

undecided 16 Nov 12:38
It's high time I decided what's happening for next year's comp. I've been putting it off, not sure if I can or want to commit to a full 8 month version again, but I'd say yes let's go for it. So the plan is to start up again in February! As for the format, I'm going back to all-in-one division. Partly because support for both formats is roughly split down the middle & partly because it's slightly easier to manage keeping results & number of threads etc. I'd still welcome some help though, particularly on Saturdays, all I would say is that you don't have to use my spreadsheet, "pen & paper" is fine, I would just need some weekly totals that I can plug in to keep the overall monthly/yearly tables updated. In addition to the maths, you would be asked to keep an eye on rules being followed etc. As always your comments on format and rules are welcome, given that I'm going with the one division version, any suggestions for improvements on that basis will be gladly considered Thanks for your support |
