We all know the top 2. We want to see the actual percentages to answer the big questions:

1. Katie vs TreyC. Did Tweedy not vote to bring it to deadlock cause they knew she was bottom.
2. Mary vs Cher. Did they changed the rules cause they didn't want Mary in the final weekend.

Cher Lloyd & Waissel were bottom 2 a total of 6 times.  The 4 times they were bottom the judges put them through on a vote. The 2 times they were not bottom, the judges "let the public decide" knowing they would go through anyway.

What a joke OFCOM is allowing this vote-rigging to go on.
Report George Bailey December 13, 2010 1:40 AM GMT
Agree absolutely and someone should post this to them. Not that they will do anything. OFCOM should be ashamed. The reasons they gave for not investigating were literally goobledygook and they have lost all credibility imo.

From telly mix. Can anyone explain how the viewers vote did decide which acts stayed in?

Ofcom complaints over X Factor 'unlikely to be upheld' say the watchdog

ITV

A spokesperson for television watchdog Ofcom has said that it is unlikely complaints over last night’s X Factor will be upheld. This morning the regulator confirmed it had received some 200 complaints over Sunday’s results show which saw Mary Byrne eliminated from the show while the judges put Cher Lloyd through to the final.

A spokesperson commented: “Our rules in this area state that viewers must not be materially misled. Viewers pay to vote for who they want to stay in The X Factor, not for who they want to be eliminated.

“Viewers’ votes did determine who stayed in the contest at this stage and so there do not appear to be any issues raised under our rules.

“ITV’s terms and conditions also state clearly that a range of combinations of eliminations based on the public vote and /or the judges’ decision can apply at different stages of the contest, and that these are at ITV and the producers’ discretion.”

However media lawyer Ambi Sitham told revealed: “I absolutely think there could be a case for an investigation into a breach of the Ofcom rules.

“A lot of people are wondering why the changes to the voting rules for the semi finals weren’t made clear to the paying public and feel their votes for Mary didn’t really count when ultimately the judges decided her fate.”

Talking to Channel 4 News, she added: “People should be made aware of any changes to the voting rules because at the end of the day it’s their money and they should know the facts so they can decide if they want to vote.

“I think even if there isn’t an investigation this is a pretty close shave.”

And proves beyond doubt that cowell not only knows the results each show but has the other judges in cahoots (nice old word for something nasty). One day it will all come out ie some sacked production manager.

To be selfish though when rules are changed or a vote is allowed to go to deadlock then so long as you can second guess cowells motives (easy) you can fill your boots gambling wise.

Interesting that he was so keen on katie cos of her links to sony that he happily dumped Aiden...who it turns out was his and Louis' choice to win the show Laugh

think there's definitely a good story to be written about those voting figures.

Quite a coincidence how Katie and Cher were saved when they were last with the voters and how it went to deadlock when they were safe.

People should be made aware of the blatant manipulation that goes on with this show, i guess from a betting perspective it suits us to know this since its pretty easy to predict whats going to happen once you've identified the chosen ones but this year the level of manipulation has gone to a whole new level.
Report Guybrush Threepwood December 13, 2010 1:45 PM GMT
The competition this year was not as strong. Cardle fans stayed loyal and voted consistently throughout the weeks, judging by his percentages. Looks like his first impression stuck. The last act slot did not have much of an impact. Must remember that for next year.

I am sure if Gamu had not been snubbed by that deaf b1tch she would have given Cardle a good contest.

Yes i said all along I thought Gamu was the pick of the girls and just scandalous how she never made Cheryl's four choices.  It must have been because of her deportation doubts surely.

I held back backing matt till I knew she definately wasn't in it as I thought she was a real threat.
Report Guybrush Threepwood December 13, 2010 4:42 PM GMT
I think the week Katie had a huge rise in percentage was due to her being at the height of her negative media coverage. Viewers tuned in and see her and Cowell knew this and made the viewers wait by placing her as the last act. But luckily she pulled it off by a decent performance, not because she was just the last act, just coincidence.

My point was that being in the last slot (or the first slot) does not make you any popular or less. Being last does not necessary mean you are any better or have an advantage in being recent in the voter's memory. They stick with their faves and vote whenever they appear.
