Whoever was backing Waggy at 8 and 9 of course...

But my favourite was the missus's best mate who bet her hubby a tenner that 1d would win.

Evens, of course Laugh    I couldn't believe it. Said I would have offered her 6/4

Is 11 bad enough Sad

9.2 Mary too Sad and Treyc @ 14.5 Cry
Report GeorgeBrush December 11, 2010 12:02 PM GMT
I'd stacks on Mary at those prices, but much was layed lower or the same...

14.5 Treyc is unforgivable though Laugh

Numerous bad ones. Worst is probably backing Steven Hunter? Anybody even remember who he is? I thought he would be Louis' wild-card, fulfilling the Wagner joke candidate role.

big fat Scottish g@y iirc

featured in the early audition shows, maybe the first and one of the first acts we saw.

Yes. The house-husband.

John Adeleye @7/4 for top over 28 is surely a contender on hearing he was a M.O.B.O. award winner.

Remember the talk before the series started in earnest about why they changed the age limit for the olds (or who they might have changed it for)?  Realised, when out walking this morning, Matt would have been in that category.

Bailing on Waggy at 34s having backed him at ridiculous prices early doors...  Need to grow some bigger balls! Laugh
Report Dizzy42 December 11, 2010 12:14 PM GMT
Definitely Squares - commented to my wife then that Matt was being set up as the winner even at that early stage...  Anything to avoid the Louis kiss of death!

I'll have to look at my list of bets with the firms to see if there is anything shameful.  It takes too long to uncheck av. odds on here.
Report GeorgeBrush December 11, 2010 12:16 PM GMT
Jesus Henry that is bad Laugh

I backed Keri Arindell on the basis of a photo of her going to the judges houses  lol    only £20 though
Report LOU MACARIS TARTAN B December 11, 2010 12:17 PM GMT
I layed Waggy at 144 which at the end of the day he went out but to think I could have waited and layed at 50's ............... let alone 8's!

I took £13 out of him at 144.  Could have took about £250 nearly in hindsight.  Aaah hindsight ........... a wonderful thing!

I guess 42 on Storm Lee isnt that impressive :)

Nicolo at 36s (to win not to be first out unfortunately)

Still think without the glasses he'd be in the final nowLaugh
Report GeorgeBrush December 11, 2010 12:23 PM GMT
*did
Report LOU MACARIS TARTAN B December 11, 2010 12:25 PM GMT
George

I backed Nicolo at 38 thinking he was in with a real shout so to go the first week was awful. I thought he had 'something' but yes perhaps the glasses didn't help.

Report GeorgeBrush December 11, 2010 12:29 PM GMT
I don't think backing Nicolo was anything shameful

He was throughly shafted by idiot Dannii. Could have kept us entertained for weeks with his dry wit, if not his singing, and grown a fan base. Storm on the other hand...

Neither did I think FYD were bad either Laugh
Report squares December 11, 2010 12:32 PM GMT
Never had a chance to lay them either Laugh so that really is a low point.

Initially got into a right mess really early with the mentor/category markets as they changed those originally planned, although did end up with decent odds Dannii/boys and groups didn't look too bad price wise for a lot of the series.

George

To be fair apart from Wagner I don't think any act was bad at all.  I thought Treyc was the best singer of the girls and still do.  She only lasted about 5 or 6 weeks though.

I thought Nicolo was a good singer but we never got teh chance to hear him ..... 1 week!
Report GeorgeBrush December 11, 2010 12:38 PM GMT
I genuinely think Storm was worse. Wagner knew he was a comedy act, Storm didn't
Report Dizzy42 December 11, 2010 12:55 PM GMT
That's what made Storm so hilarious!

Backing Katie to be eliminated about five weeks in succession was not a high point.  Eventually got it all back and then some though!

The farm got a lot smaller one week when Paije survived. I've blanked the exact details.

I backed the girl group at 16s Laugh

Thought I had it sorted this year early doors, having backed Nicolo 12ish iirc and then Storm the following week...

Got greedy last week with Marygate and blew a small Xmas fortune on Cher to go Cry
