Having read through various threads would you not agree Rebecca seems to be the chosen one, we agree Simon prefers Rebecca to matt, we heard Cheryl at the weekend state to Rebecca " you are everything we want from our next popstar"  you also seen Simon at his best with Matt about looking for sympathy for having the sore throat. If the pairings are correct with the songs at the weekend, then again this is another indication of their preference for Rebecca. Just seems like if the performance is solid from Rebecca this weekend things look to be going in her way, also Rebecca looked really focused last weekend and I do expect something similar if not better this weekend. I genuinely believe Rebecca has more chance of having a wider audience appeal than Matt, still cant work out why the difference in odds are such.

I believe Rebecca is his preferred winner, but so was Danyl last year, so it doesn't mean she'll.
It's better to have Cowell in your corner than not though

There is no 'chosen one'.
Although some of you have convinced yourselves it's a two horse race, Cowell would patently rather have one of the other two win (but he's resigned to that being unlikely.)

Of rebecca/matt, Rebecca would have a marginally longer shelflife and is more maleable than Matt but he's making sure to praise them both enough so as not to look like a clot whoever wins.

SC's main task was to get his preferred four to the final. I'm not convinced the order they actually finish will now cause him any sleepless nights.

Its just everything looks to be pointing to Rebecca, all judges prefer her, the public surely see how genuine she is. Everybody cant help but comment about the class that just oozes from her, they definitely want her over Matt. I just get the feeling when the heavy votes start this weekend Rebecca will shine.

This isn't ramping

..but it's a poor excuse just to start another thread for the usual suspects to repeat once more what they have been
posting all day.
This is what happens on here.

Rebecca  certainly appears to be the "chosen one" on here over the last 48 hours.

It will go on and on ..until reality kicks in and we hear them sing again.

There was an article yesterday I think that said Cowell wants to sign up all 4 finalists (and wasn’t so interested in Mary so had to dump her). I think that’s true, he’ll give them all a try, they can all make money in the short term.

Matt and 1D I can’t see making money beyond the short term XF hype. However various artists have said that they want to write for or sing with Rebecca and Cher so the girls, particularly Rebecca, are long term propositions. Whether Cowell takes up the partnership offers or not it is telling that musicians have shown faith in them.

You say "all judges prefer her" yet Louis has clearly stated on moe than one occasion in front of millions on TV that he thinks Matt will win it. Danni obviously prefers matt so there's 50% for a start!  Why are you making such a ridiculous statement?

You're blatantly putting over a one sided arguement of any possible rebecca pluses but don't mention the minuses or pluses for Matt. ... even One d perhaps.  It's like your spouting that your team scored three goals but you don't mention the other team scored three or possibly more.  That's just childish isn't it?

You missed Louis saying Rebecca was his favourite act ever Lou?
Report Henry VIII December 9, 2010 12:19 AM GMT
Louis said he thought Rebecca to be the best contestant from all the XF.

Henry

Yes he did.  He also said (which you strangely choose not to mention) that he was deliberately bigging up Rebecca to give her some support.  He also has sid live on the TV that he thinks Matt will win it.
Report stroodle December 9, 2010 10:45 AM GMT
Lou the reason they were bigging up Rebecca is because they want her to win, you would think they may have known Matt had more votes earlier and are pushing her for victory. Remember you have had Cowell telling everyone Rebecca would be the most incredible ambassador for the country and show, and we can go on and on. I do think most believe the judges would be over the moon to have her crowned at the finish. The only reason for the post was people seem to think Matt has an unassailable lead which I dont believe is the case, and am just putting my point forward. Matts odds v Rebecca were out of sink with her ability and chances. Rebecca I feel has a wider fan base, and when all the main voters start at the final I feel Rebecca will come to the fore.

That's fine, much better put across.  You say 'they want her to win' though ........... how could you possibly know that?  They have given her good remarks but I'd imagine bar cher they could be happy if all three acts won so why single out her?  The odds are heavily in Matt's favour price wise with rebecca being three times his odds as we speak.  That's down to everyone's opinion and weight of money not just yours.

She may well win of course I can see that but you must see that Matt may well win too.
Report GymTanLaundry December 9, 2010 10:59 AM GMT
the odds may be 3 times the size, but the probability is only double.  he's only twice as likely to win as rebecca according to the market, not 3 times.

i think it's hard to argue with stroodle assertion that the judges (cowell) are pushing for a rebecca victory over matt, based on all known evidence.  of course you can't be certain, but you can analyse what they say both on the live show and xtra factor, as well as assess the contestants' respective media coverage.
Report bunnyman December 9, 2010 11:42 AM GMT
I can see what you mean stroodle, if you took the sum comments from Cowell over the course of the series you would definitely say that he prefers a Rebecca win over a Matt win.  Has it occurred to anyone though that his Rebecca ramping might actually be an attempt to split the 'quality singer' vote to help 1D?
Report rogerthebutler December 9, 2010 2:54 PM GMT
They want anyone but Matt as he probably has too many of his own ideas to be a nice malleable, 'made-for-America' popstar they want and need (I use the word 'they' advisedly as when Cowell says 'jump' everyone else on the show says 'how high?')

You can see matt winning it, doing the Christmas Number One thing (pretty much a 'given' these days. Better still get another RATM war going wheere both protagonists sell more than either on their own). At which point he picks up his guitar and goes 'Y'know, I used to be in a band....sang some of my own tracks...bit Nirvan-ish...yeah I like 'The First Time Ever I Saw You're Face' but I don't want to do it forever...what about a few of my own songs'

....at which point Cowell drops him like the Australian slips corden and goes "America! Meet Cher and Rebecca, with One Direction on backing vocals! Fk off back to obscurity beardie!!"
