Think Rebecca is singing beautiful as spoilers predict, price will surely shorten shortly

Yep, if that's confirmed stroodle then Rebecca's price is only going one way.

rumours on DS that katy perry pulled out of a duet with cher, so she ended up with avril lavigne!!

Think Bieber and Rihana are both better choices than Christina tbh. Certainly more popular.

Bieber to much of a c0ck to actually do it though I imagine.

I didn't know avril lavigne was still about.

When was she big? about 10 years ago. I remember my niece was forever playing her album.

GTL, can't imagine many A-list artists wanting to duet with Cher. They have a career to protect aswell lol

Aguilera is clearly the biggest star out of them even if her last album didn't sell very well. Beautiful is one of the biggest singles of the last few years

There's no wow factor with any of these names at the moment..all in the same league.

Christina Aguilera and Rihanna are both huge, Christina is bigger, but who do we think is more popular to a UK audience right now?
By:

Without a doubt Christina Aguilera is the biggest of these in terms of an itv mainstream audience.

Really?  Beautiful was a great song but came out in 2003.  Aguilera hasn't had a top 10 hit here since 2006. I would have thought Rihanna was more 'relevant'.

It's hardly George Michael walking back onto prime time tv for the first time in 10 years to sing.

All of these are standard fodder for the weekly show these days.

Now Prince would be a wow.
U2 would be a wow
Eminem would be a wow.

Meaningless. George Michael was clearly the biggest name last year despite having done nothing for years except get high and crash his car. These shows are all about nostalgia. Unless you've got someone who really is big today like Beyonce or Lady Gaga, you're better off with someone who was big like them once upon a time.

i don't see christina and rebecca as a good pairing.

christina is all vocal histrionics....rebecca is quite the opposite.

apparently rihanna is duetting with JLS.

(that's just a warning not to totally believe all the rumours!)

It's a no brainer for me.

Singing Beautiful with Aguilera or gawd knows what with Rihanna.

The initial rumour was Matt had Aguilera but if this is confirmed  and it's now Rebecca I'm more than happy

I think Justin Bieber could have more voting impact than any of those acts, he's the only one with a blind irrational following that would multi vote for any act he appeared with.

Christina is a big name, but she's not Beyonce.  With Alexandra duetting with Beyonce was beyond her wildest dreams and it showed.  Even if it meant as much to Rebecca to perform with Christina, which I really don't believe it would, she wouldn't show it because she is too shy and unexpressive.  If they sang 'Beautiful' it would give Rebecca a good vehicle to sell her voice, but I don't see this partnership being a Beyonce type defining moment.

As a Matt backer I'm not thrilled at the prospect of Rihanna.  I think she's as big a name as Christina, but what would they sing?

Cher and Lavigne?  Poor Cher.

This time last year we had all sorts of false rumours right up to the day iirc.  Any reason to believe this rumour is credible?

Bieber doesn't appeal to anyone over 14, much like 1D.
It's hardly going to broaden their appeal.

Not everyone under 14 likes 1D figgy, my daughter for one.  Although in fairness she hates Bieber. However, if they were duetting with the Jonas Brothers I guarantee she would overcome her apathy towards 1D and get on the phone - no question.  I'm certain it will be the same for Bieber fans.

I'm not convinced about the no-one over 14 likes 1D argument tbh.  Quite a few celebrity guests seem to like them, Holly Willerbooby likes them, people who ring up Xtra Factor seem to be disproportionately 1D fans (maybe because many of the callers are gay).  I know I'm quoting a very small sample but their name does seem to come up a lot more than I expect it to.

neither am i.  i imagine they have a fair few 20-something female fans.

bunny

I'm sure most people in their twenties and obviously all the people older than that aren't going to vote for them in nothing like the proportions of Matt and Rebecca.  Say someone was 50 for arguements sake.  Matt comes on and wows em', Rebecca sings one of her nice tunes and sings it well.  Surely they'll be voting for them rather than a very very average boyband who just stand in a line and sing and the awful Cher.

Looks like it's from a press release so a kind of confirmation - from the Sunday Mirror news editor:

jasav James Saville
X Factor news: Matt Cardle performing with Rihanna for live final. Cher with Avril Lavigne/ Rebecca with C. Aguilera/ OD with J.Bieber

Very few over 14 would prefer 1D to Matt or Rebecca imo.

Only a small sample but my eldest niece is mid 20's and she and her friends love Matt.

That is also backed up by all the decent polls.

Their price is ridiculous based on the evidence we have.

my girlfriend is mid-20s and loves one direction (particularly harry) and can't stand matt.

her mates are apparently "so over matt".

swings and roundabouts fll.
